We stayed at the Toucan Suite at Mahogany Hall, in Bullet Tree, which is a 10-minute drive from San Ignacio downtown, and it was perfect for us. Our apartment was overlooking the river, and we were surrounded by nature. Marsha arranged the taxis for us to go into town, it’s walkable, but in the heat and humidity, we preferred the drive. We had breakfast brought up to our room every day, to enjoy from our balcony, and Angelo, the chef, is amazing. We had the most delicious fry jacks alongside eggs, fresh fruit, and a choice of protein. The hotel bar is small, and opens to the river, hammocks, and the pool; we got a couple of drinks there. When I asked about the different kinds of rum, Amily wrote down the ones I would like most so I could find them later in my trip. We loved staying at the Toucan Suite. Highly recommend it to couples looking to experience San Ignacio in a more natural setting without sacrificing modern amenities. Think glamping but way better!

Mahogany Hall was wonderful. It felt like our own private house getaway. The wonderful staff made everything perfect. Great food, great staff, great location, and a great stay.

Comfy bed, awesome air-conditioning in bedroom. We had the 2 bedroom apartment as that's what was available when we booked. No breakfast but full kitchen and walking distance to open air market and shops. We enjoyed the patio outside the room, too. We agree with another poster who mentioned it's a bit odd. However, it's a great budget place to stay. Great views of town from bar on upper floor.

The huge apartment we had with a full kitchen at the back of the property,very quiet with a view of the jungle. Also the hammocks around the pool and in the shade.
Nice location away from the busy and trafficked portions of town yet close enough to be accessible. The two bedroom apartment was clean, quite, and well furnished, the kitchen in particular, which was welcomed since we regularly cooked our meals there. The owner's mother and brother were very friendly and welcoming, creating a nice and warm "family feeling" to the place. Having a beer in the bar on the top deck was a pleasant way to end the day.
Friendly staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome, very clean and spacious apartment with little touches such as fresh flowers, beautiful gardens with wildlife, nice pool to relax in at the end of the day. We ate at the on site restaurant and enjoyed a good local meal.
Really spacious apartment and huge, comfortable bed. There were two TVs with working Netflix etc. The apartment had everything you need to cook basic meals and breakfast. Good location in the centre of San Ignacio. They can organise tours for you at reception and we were happy with the service.

We stayed in an apartment a total of 3 nights. It was well-appointed, having everything we needed, and the staff encouraged us to call if we needed anything. We got the feeling that they, truly, would support us in any way. Every single staff member was friendly and welcoming. The pool was a bonus. We enjoyed the hiking trail, and the plant botanical labels were informative. Because of the gardens, they adorn the rooms with beautiful flowers! Is happily return to this home-away-from-home!
