This new hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the jetty for boats to Kapas Island. It is situated up a flight of stairs on the first floor, over a handy supermarket which sells everything one might need, such as noodles, beverages, toothpaste, deodorant etc. The hotel covers one floor with number of rooms radiating out from a common area where there is a fridge, microwave, hot plate and two kettles, so self catering is a possibility with the limited utensils provided, including a saucepan, cups, plates, forks, knives snd spoons. As a solo traveller I opted for the en suite-single room, which, though compact, had everything I required for my two night stay. The bed was the most comfortable I have experienced on my trip to date and the linen and towels were super clean. The bathroom was very clean with a powerful shower with hot water. I was very happy with the room and the amenities at this hotel and would happily stay there again of I return to Maran. Although Maran is a jumping off point for Kapas Island I would recommend staying a couple of days to look around Maran itself, which has some lovely walks that takes you through a number of picturesque fishing villages. Lastly, thanks to the host for allowing me check in early - it was much appreciated.

It’s right at Chinatown and there’s a supermarket behind the apartment. Our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and there’s air conditioning throughout the house and 2 toilets. There are many pillows too. There’s a mini kitchen with microwave, small fridge, kettle and utensils. There’s outdoor balcony to dry your laundry. Living room has sofa and dining table. Our toddler loves the alpaca stool so much.
