Located in Camelford, within 44 km of Newquay Train Station and 11 km of Tintagel Castle, Highermead House provides accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Highermead House was one of the less expensive places the GPS showed reasonably close to Tintagel (King Arthur's castle) so we booked it without high expectations. Boy, were we surprised, starting with the nice confirmation note Kasey sent. The GPS took us to a tiny gate in a very narrow tree tunnel. But a few yards further is the wide entrance with lots of parking around what will one day be a fountain (once the outside is renovated). Jon greeted us and took us through a large, beautiful, warm and welcoming, sitting room to a very nicely decorated room that had everything we'd need - microwave, fridge, dishes, table and chairs, lighted mirror in the bathroom, nook in the shower for shower gel. Without having met Kasey, I knew immediately it was her work. She had put some serious thought and effort into it. Later she told me she put everything in it that she would want. Thank you, Jon and Kasey, for being so warm and friendly and having such delightfully fun boys. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay! I'd give it 20 stars if I could!
