We liked that the accommodation was in a quiet area of Santa Cruz & a short 15 min walk to town. Very safe to walk around at night too. The best part of our stay has to be the hostess herself - Nelly. She is so warm and welcoming and makes a different, and very tasty, breakfast every day. Her husband, Claudio, also a gent, drove us to the port for our tour which was unexpected and kind of him. Nelly helped when booking trips and gave advice on economical options if you’re on a budget. The room itself was clean, simple with comfortable beds, a bathroom and a kitchenette. Air conditioning if you need it. Nelly was a wonderful host and we would recommend staying here when visiting Santa Cruz. We even came back to stay a second time after a couple of nights on Isla Isabella. That says it all. Thanks for everything Nelly!

La Casa del Lago Hotel está situada en Santa Cruz, ocupa una casa encantadora con jardín y ofrece departamentos independientes con balcón privado. What an amazing gem of a place!! We felt so fortunate to have booked this as it certainly seemed to be one of the nicest in town. I loved that they had hot and cold filtered water available and a clothes line and outside space on a little pretty deck covered in flowers. The location was ideal. Short walk to anywhere in town. Proprietor was very helpful and we very much enjoyed the tours and transportation that she arranged for us. It was so relaxing for us to be able to book once we arrived rather than way ahead. It was also much better value than booking ahead, which we were very thankful for.
