Good european hotel's standard. Additionally kitchen in the room. Close to restaurants, and supermarket. Safe around. There is swimming pool but we didn't use it.

I stayed many times at this hotel when I come to Santo Domingo, and I'm always happy with what I get. Small cozy apartment with a big bedroom and a small kitchen and fridge, super nice staff, perfectly located, and one the cheapest price in la Zona for this kind of hotels. On top of that the hotel has a super cute terrasse, and your room doesn't face the main street, which in Santo Domingo, is something that you would want :)

I write this in English instead of German: This is a building with studios, the design is modern, the personnel is VERY friendly and helpful. It is absolutely safe. You can invite locals to visit you. They have to leave their ID-cards at reception (for your saftey). I feel at home and will definitively come back, when I come to visit Santo Domingo again. It is only 5min walk t everything (the sea front, or shoping area, independence park etc.). I take my daily food from a lovely lady (she cooks and sells food to locals for 200pesos each portion and you can take it away. There is a 92-year old granpa selling his fruits which I love to buy and chat with him a bit.

Just 15 metres from the oceanfront promenade, Hotel Shakey is located in the Santo Domingo district that hosts most of the bars and nightlife entertainment. Love love love staying here! Staff is amazing. We stay here every 6 to 7 months for the past 2 years and we love it. Will always come back. Sea view is amazing
