It is only 5min walk t everything (the sea front, or shoping area, independence park etc.). I take my daily food from a lovely lady (she cooks and sells food to locals for 200pesos each portion and you can take it away. There is a 92-year old granpa selling his fruits which I love to buy and chat with him a bit.
