Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Alte Bäckerei Königstein Aparthotel und Café is a recently renovated aparthotel located in Königstein an der Elbe, 1.5 km from Königstein Fortress. The place is very cosy, comfortable and freshly-renovated, at the very center of Königstein, with a view of the Königstein fortress. I chose it mainly because it was pet-friendly, and we traveled with our cat who turned out to be their first feline guest. The staff was really helpful, and accommodated all our requests, even helped me order a surprise birthday cake for my husband. Thank you to Sylvia for bearing with all my questions and showing incredible hospitality!

Set in Bad Schandau and only 3.3 km from Saxon Switzerland National Park, Schloss Prossen offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. One of my favourite places I can remember staying. Staff were generous with their time and kind about helping us work out checking in late and charging our electric car. We very much enjoyed the stunning sauna which we booked for personal use both nights we stayed. The kitchen was very well equipped also, everything brand new, high tech and spotless.

Offering river views, Fährmannhaus is an accommodation located in Bad Schandau, 4.2 km from Saxon Switzerland National Park and 11 km from Königstein Fortress. I stayed here with my 5 year old daughter and I really loved the nice playground right in front of our apartment. I also loved that it was right by the ferry so we could easily cross when we wanted.
