Great location for hikes in all directions, setting in a beautiful garden, absolutely quiet. The hosts treat you like family. We stayed there before (in double room in the garden) and after (in the suite which is actually the former home of the founder of JS) our Chirripo trip. Internet was working pretty good even for streaming movies (with some interruptions). Don’t miss the garden tour and the mirador in the upper part, you get a good view on the dimension of your 1st Chirripo day as well as on Cerro Ventisqueros, the second highest mountain of Costa Rica. Also nice to watch birds.

National Museum are across the street and National Theatre of Costa Rica is 600 metres from Cando Living.... Great large rooms. And the staff is very gentil and supportive My friend left his bag with all his papers and he noticed 4 hours after, when he went back they returned it intact.

The place is right in the middle of the city - near the market, the cathedral and the central plaza. I had my initial thoughts about it, hoping it's safe and not seedy. My room was incredible! Big space, beautiful, the bathroom is squeaky clean, overall, it blew me away! The hosts including the cafe owner down below are the friendliest most accommodating people. The place is secured, no one else can come in unless you have a QR code (accessible upon check-in), there's a security personnel at night.
