During our 4.5 weeks stay in Zanzibar we booked twice (first time 7, second time 6 nights) the 2-bedroom bungalow in the beautiful green oasis of Paola & Danielle (& their 7 cats 😻). We loved not only the privacy and comfort of the bungalow but it also always felt like coming home :). Although the East Coast of Zanzibar is facing regular power outages we never had an issue at Nyumbani due to their own generator.
Nyumbani Residence is not only very well suited for a trip with friends but also families and couples. A big thanks goes out to the super warm and welcoming staff, too. We can't wait to come back to escape the German winter again. Asante sana 💚!

We couldn't have found a better place to stay for our honeymoon! The setting is paradise, quiet, the large terrace overlooking the sea with its large sunbed is absolutely addictive. The place is directly on the white sand beach which is deserted. The view is breathtaking. The staff are adorable, discreet and concerned about our well-being, very responsive to any questions or requests for service.

The room was a little hut, a simple construction like locals huts a built, ecerything was clean and the view of the bungalow was just amazing. It's just the ocean and you. It was fantastic.
Ideal for travellers who want their own space and don’t need frills. Aparthotels/serviced apartments have some hotel facilities like a reception desk but are self-catered with a place to cook (e.g. a kitchenette). This suite-style accommodation usually has more than 10 units per property.
The staff was friendly and also the rooms had self catering facilities which was great. The overall experience was nothing short of amazing. The reception assists with close to every thing one might need.
We stayed in three different hotels and Mkeka Spice Lodge was by far the best.
We have never eaten such a rich breakfast anywhere. The portions were huge and everything was delicious. The rooms are very clean, there is always hot water. The beach is only a few minutes walk.
Hotel service is fantastic.
when we were leaving we were sad to say goodbye to the staff who were always helpful and always made us laugh.
The hotel is well guarded and you can feel very safe.
If we come back to Zanzibar it's only to Mkeka Spice Lodge.❤
