Villa Dunja is a beautiful, romantic Tuscan house with several apartments/rooms in an idyllic garden. We found everything for a real dolce vita in our apartment and enjoyed the time at the pool. We could prepare our lunch in the kitchen, everything was new and functional. Gabriele was very helpful and extremely hospitable - thank you so much for everything! He also organized a wine tasting for us which was great. We had wonderful days in this charming place- I absolutely recommend it!!

We stayed here for a week with our two grown up children and what a lovely time we had. Our two bed, two bathroom apartment (Isola Polvese )was spotlessly clean offering good quality air con in both bedrooms and the living area ( this deserves a 10/10 alone .)There was a lovely terrace with plenty of shade and wonderful views. We had the use of two swimming pools which were never very busy ( assumed other guests, like ourselves were sightseeing much of the day.) The perfect accommodation for visiting local hilltop villages and towns. You must take a walk into the local village of Paciano. Also take the short drive to the stunning little hill top town of Panicale with its views, restaurants and action packed square.
We toured around the wonderful lake Trasimeno and spent a day or two on its swimming beaches and just relaxing with the locals . Highly recommend this area as it’s so beautiful and quiet .

Huge room, very nicely decorated in a medieval kind of style, cute little kitchen and a smaller sized bathroom. Very centrally located in the city centre, literally out the door and you are there where the places are to eat, drink etc. Our room did have a lovely view on the lake

The whole place is exceptional. The buildings and grounds are maintained daily to a very high standard and kept immaculate. The staff are helpful and welcoming.

The problem of Il Casteletto is that they refuse to listen to critical feedback, which in our case resulted in a largely dissatisfying experience leading us to resign from our vacation in Il Castelleto mid-way through.
It must be stated that we came to Tuscany in the middle of the summer, where temperatures oscillate around 37-38C and while that is hot, it’s nothing unheard of in Italy. Despite that It Casteletto management chose not to install AC in any of the rooms – we made a mistake of not catching that “detail” while booking (we keep coming to Tuscany for years and never seen a place without AC), but then hoped that with Tuscan way of building and with the extra help of fans, it will be ok. It wasn’t – it turned out our 3-room apartment was a heat trap, where temperature felt even hotter than outside with very limited air circulation between rooms. Club that with old worn-out mattress and you have a great recipe for sleep-less nights. While we asked for fans during booking, only one was available on check-in and second was provided only when we asked. There were no more fans available. We did complain about the heat inside rooms, to which we got an answer that we must be too sensitive and “no other guests complain”. We were envious of other guest heat tolerance, but it didn’t make our stay more bearable.

Perfect location to visit surrounding tuscan locations, Gaia reccommended some great tours, the olive tasting with Bianca was a holiday highlight . Walking distance to a great choice of bars and restaurants and if you need some time out, pretty pool to relax by. Love the kitchen in a cupboard such fun.
Ideal for travellers who want their own space and don’t need frills. Aparthotels/serviced apartments have some hotel facilities like a reception desk but are self-catered with a place to cook (e.g. a kitchenette). This suite-style accommodation usually has more than 10 units per property.
We just loved it here. Having travelled widely across Italy for over thirty years this was the best self catering apartment we have ever had. Only a few minutes from Montepulciano this is a gem. So well kept and so peaceful. Some good bars and excellent restaurants only a few minutes away. If you are a cyclist the roads and tarmac are a dream!!
Great location, free parking close by. Room & bathroom are very spacious & clean. Self-catering facilities, including dishwasher. There was an iron but no ironing board. Our room was on 2nd floor & no lift, but renovations taking place, so possible that one may be installed.
Self catering apartment in the countryside located in a valley bottom with woodland surround, accessed by a non-metalled road rather a rough surface in places. A delightful setting and a friendly host.
Situated in the country, it was the perfect location to base oneself if you wanted to just relax! Facilities were excellent, and we also had our own private terrace. If you are looking for self catering, they had everything you needed to start you off, should you arrive late. The views were stunning, looking over the vineyards, but also being given the opportunity to try the wine produced by the owners. Lastly, the bed was fantastic and we enjoyed the best nights sleep too.
