Great communication with the host who provided useful information and photos to assist us in finding and accessing the property. They explained where to park and we found this easily. It wasn’t far from the car park to the apartment though it may be an issue for people with mobility issues. Also the bedrooms were not at ground level and the only toilet was on the ground floor so that could also be an issue for some. No problems for us.
Dog-friendly - there were even 2 bowls ready to welcome our girl.
Featuring a fitness centre and views of city, Residence Carlton is an aparthotel situated in a historic building in Ferrara, 500 metres from Ferrara Cathedral.
Ideal for travellers who want their own space and don’t need frills. Aparthotels/serviced apartments have some hotel facilities like a reception desk but are self-catered with a place to cook (e.g. a kitchenette). This suite-style accommodation usually has more than 10 units per property.
Everything including tourist sights, restaurants, etc., was less than 15 min walk away. The receptionist and Leonardo were very friendly and welcoming and even though they didn’t have breakfast it was very well-appointed for self-catering. The garden was a lovely place to eat breakfast and sit in the afternoon and evening.
I loved this place; my room was essentially a kitchen (with a full-size fridge-freezer) with a single bed, but that was fine as I was self-catering. It also has a lovely terrace.
Inez, the lady who let me in was very nice.
The location was great; Ferrara isn’t very big, so it was easy to get around on foot, but if one is driving, there is plenty of off-street parking.
I had a lovely time
This studio apartment has been tastefully refurbished with careful thought. The location is absolutely central but the windows and external blinds effectively block any imposition from the street at night. The well equipped kitchen makes self-catering a practical option. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom modern but with a slow draining shower. Silvia is a courteous and efficient hostess. An enjoyable 4 night stay.
The room is beautifully appointed, kitchenette in a cupboard very neat and reasonably equipped, bang in the centre but quite quiet at night. Owner welcoming and helpful. For self catering it couldn't be better placed - there's a supermarket downstairs, salumeria next door, pasticceria nearby. There's a list of recommended restaurants; we enjoyed the food and the vibe at the Savonarola (twice).
