The facilities are particularly upgraded with the recent renovation, and together with the already unique location, this place appears as a little paradise in south Crete. The perfect summery, relaxing vibes close to the beach with all the amenities one may need. Very clean and tidy and the staff is lovely and so helpful. I would definitely visit Apollo Philoxenia again and strongly recommend it to everyone.

The hotel is located in the main area of Plakias. The beach, market, most of the tavernas, boat rental are within 1-2 minutes walking distance. The trails going to the hills and nearest beaches are also easily accessible from here. The hotel offers a free parking place outside the fence, next to the building. The breakfast was served next to the pool every morning from 8-10 a.m., and it was better than expected. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, the cleaning ladies came every day. The room even has a small balcony. We haven’t tried the pool, but it looked really clean, and it deepend from zero to 1,4 meters at the end. We had a lovely stay in this hotel!
