I would recommend this place for families with kids, but you definitely need a car.
Nice places around to walk in nature (trail walks) and it takes around 1 hour and a bit to get to the sea by foot.

The property is self catering so either make your own breakfast or eat out. The owner met us with the keys even though we were lost in town a lovely lady.
Large house fully equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. We were a party of 9 and had lots of room for everyone. Lovely pool area which we really enjoyed.
The hotel is modern and well maintained. Bedrooms are well equipped, the kitchen unit is a bonus for those who wish to do some self catering. Bathroom spotless with everything you need. There is a good sized swimming pool and sun lounge area. Staff universally helpful. There is a Sky Bar which is open on a number of evenings. The hotel is close to a number of bars and restaurants and about a six minute stroll from the beach.
The swimming pool and leisure facilities were excellent with lots to do for all.
The miramar shopping centre is conveniently located across from the hotel.
The self catering facilities were clean and sufficient for our cooking.
We were travelling with our baby and the hotel provided a high chair and cot free of charge.
Stayed here before. One bed self catering flat. Has everything I need for a few weeks, good central location. one row back from promenade. I particularly like having a proper oven, many flats say oven when they only have a microwave. Booking.com should review these descriptions. Lovely bathroom. Juliette balconies. Parking in nearby port area. Hope to come back again.

This was our second stay at the Occidental Hotel.
I think the last one.
Hotel service, as the number of occupied rooms increased, the quality of service decreased.
You pay for a five-star hotel and after checking in you are treated like in a two-star hotel.
The reception ladies are rude and arrogant.
Room cleaning is only possible after calling the reception and you have to ask for it.
I am quite dissapointed.
