The place is right in the middle of the city - near the market, the cathedral and the central plaza. I had my initial thoughts about it, hoping it's safe and not seedy. My room was incredible! Big space, beautiful, the bathroom is squeaky clean, overall, it blew me away! The hosts including the cafe owner down below are the friendliest most accommodating people. The place is secured, no one else can come in unless you have a QR code (accessible upon check-in), there's a security personnel at night.
In Central Avenue Cando Living provides apartments. Fully equipped with towels and toiletries. National Museum are across the street and National Theater of Costa Rica is 1969 feet from Cando Living.

Close to the airport and the car rental place and the host was very kind and helpful. We also liked that it had two separate bedrooms.

Terrazas de Golf is a great place to stay always and it worked ideally as a gathering spot for our group of six people arriving on three flights over two days. It was nice for those of us that arrived first to have a home-like hotel to hang out in while the rest arrived. Once we were gathered we had plenty of room to talk and plan our adventure.

The apartment was excellent.. it's a self service apartment so cannot comment much on service but the guys on 24hour reception were nice enough
We have stayed at Aparthotel Cristina when in San Jose for the past 18 years. The hotel is in the center of San Jose, close to everything. The underground secure parking is important when you're in SJ on a shopping trip and your car is full. The wifi is great.The breakfast buffet is excellent and the front desk and all the Staff treat you like family. The management is constantly upgrading the rooms. The Restaurant Olivio has a private entrance from the hotel and serves excellent Italian food.
Location is great if first time flying into San Jose. You get the city views.
