Located on Shelter Island, 3 miles from San Diego International Airport, Kona Kai Resort offers a private beach, an outdoor pool and an on-site spa. Guest rooms feature private balconies or patios. Upon arrival I was greeted by friendly valet. was promptly greeted at front desk and Shannan was every so friendly. Room was not ready as we arrived early. I was able to check in, given access to facilities and parking. When room was ready received a text and given key to room. Family and Adult pools. Bar area by family pool was great. Food is wonderful and great portions. Stayed in newly renovated room so nice

The hotel rooms were laid out with direct access from outside. Our room was great and quite spacious with a large bathroom. On one side was the lovely marina just a few yards away and on the other the 'Shelter Bay' promenade. While not in the heart of the city, access to the city centre was very easy either by bus or car (Uber). The hotel bar was great and the bar manager very helpful when we rocked up very late desperate for a drink after a long drive. The staff were really really good across the board and during breakfast (which was really nice) they were very attentive. We would happily stay here again as we loved San Diego and this hotel.

Located 8 km from SeaWorld, this waterfront hotel offers breathtaking waterfront views of San Diego Bay and Shelter Island. A restaurant is located on site. Free WiFi is provided in each guest room. The staff from check-in desk staff and throughout, GREAT. MY ROOM WAS READ, before check-in, at 1600h. She kindly checked us in early. Much appreciation.
