There is a cafe that serves excellent coffee and fresh pastries all day, and also functions as a gift shop with locally sourced gift items, as well as items that you may have forgotten to pack with you. The staff is cheerful, friendly and remarkably accommodating: They connected us with a local historian, who joined us for a dinner day later. The chef and his very capable staff were able to serve a lovely dinner for 14 on very short notice. And then there is the Nature: the never ending daylight, the sound of the forever running ancient river, the wildflowers by the road that grow before your very eyes, the placid reindeer who are totally indifferent to your presence...

The owners love what they do and you can feel the real Northern spirit there. Nice small lake by the house, catch some fish and feel the magic of North. Modern facilities combined with nature around, love it. Be aware — if you hear howling at night, its not wolves but the huskies!

The cabin was clearly built with enthusiasm. It was a unique opportunity to use the spring-fed cold-plunge. The property owners have put together some informational videos that are helpful for using the facilities.

Die Unterkunft Lapland Old School, die in Muonio, 31 km von Kolari Train Station entfernt gelegen ist, verfügt über Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten mit einem Garten, kostenlosen Privatparkplätzen und einer... Wie der Name schon sagt, eine ehemalige alte Schule. Also bitte keinen 5 Sterne Luxus erwarten. Dementsprechend einfache sanitäre Anlagen und auch sonst einfache Ausstattung. Wir waren auf der Durchreise, daher für uns ideal. Uns wurde ein Abendessen angeboten (9€ p.P.), das sehr liebevoll zubereitet und kredenzt wurde. Genauso das Frühstück. Frische Milch von eigenen Kühen. Super nette Gastgeber!!!
