Sudhu organizes boat tours on the lake to Bird Island, Temple Island, and Cinnamon Island, which I highly recommend if you're interested in the traditional making of cinnamon. Don't miss lunch or dinner at Kola restaurant, on the lake too. Sudhu can take you there by boat, too. If you're fortunate, you might even spot a crocodile cruising in the water. This is an ideal accommodation for a relaxing, peaceful, stay in the midst of nature and with a wonderful, caring family. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, so we extended our stay to 3 nights and will be back before leaving SL. This location is for nature lovers: we saw eagles, cormorants, fish, monkeys, squirrels, all types of birds, lizards, geckos, and 1 croc in the lake. Nature also means ants and other insects that can share your bathroom at times. Nothing much you can do abt it, but if you dislike sharing with small critters, then you should avoid nature.

With sea views, Shining Line is situated in Koggala and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and outdoor fireplace. I cannot thank the owners enough of this guest house. I was involved in an incident which resulted in being admitted into hospital, and the owner went above and beyond to make sure I was okay, checking in with me at the hospital and bringing me food. I’ve never seen such kindness in all my life. The location is amazing and the room was a good size with a nice clean bathroom. They sorted a bike out for me no problem, and are just the most amazing people! Thank you again so much! Definitely recommend!
