Upon arrival the hotel arranged pick up from the airport - if you’re coming by ferry, it is probably not necessary as they’re directly next door (very convenient). I also appreciated the information on climbing Mt Rishiri from the very helpful lady at front desk (who also spoke fluent English). She gave us helpful tips and even arranged a bento breakfast for us to take to the mountain. The hotel arranged the transport both to and from the trailhead as well.

The owners are superfriendly and helpful. The ambiance in the house is very relaxed and everything is superclean. Loved the calming music in the living room when I came down. Lots of nice and subtle details like this made this a very nice experience.

Very homely ryokan manned mainly by a friendly and adorable granny! Home-style Japanese breakfast was provided. The room a traditional tatami room which was spacious and clean. Walking distance from the main train station and a bus stop just a few walks away. An onsen was nearby, and wild deer could be spotted around the neighborhood as well. Oh, they're not proficient in English but will try their best to convey their messages to you.

Dormy Inn Wakkanai is located in Hokkaido, a 2-minute walk from JR Wakkanai Station. The hotel features free internet access, flat-screen TVs and a public hot spring bath. The staff at this hotel exceeded my expectations with their exceptional friendliness and warmth. The room was not only spacious but also impeccably clean, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The onsen experience was nothing short of amazing, particularly the outdoor one, which added an extra layer of tranquility and charm. Additionally, the hotel's strategic location, just a mere 2 minutes away from Wakkanai station, made it incredibly convenient for our stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its superb service, well-maintained facilities, and convenient proximity to transportation.
