Built in 1750, The Colonsay Hotel features scenic views over the sea to the neighbouring island of Jura. Free parking is provided on site, and the property features a garden, terrace and library. The hotel is beautifully situated outside the town and near the ferry. Road maps are provided, and the island is easy to get around. The common areas are gorgeous and cozy the restaurant is beautiful and the food was fantastic. Five stars!

Kilmeny's location may not be suitable for those guests without their own transport. Kilmeny is offering accommodation in Ballygrant. Kilmeny is an absolutely wonderful location with a great view over the nearby hills. But most of it the hosts Margaret and Blair are such lovely and nice people! Strongly recommend to stay at Kilmeny if you are on Islay

The location and the hot tub was fantastic!! We also loved the kettle and array of books available to read. Very cosy, the slow pace of life was lovely. Loved that there was no TV!

Within 15 minutes’ drive of 4 of the Isle of Islay’s whisky distilleries, Skerrols House has uninterrupted countryside views and is just a 5-minute drive from the coastal village of Bridgend. Wow. I have never been more pleased with the overall experience of my stay at in inn/hotel. From the moment we arrived, Thomas greeted us so warmly, gave us a tour of the property, and answered all of our questions. The house is wonderful. Nicely appointed and cozy living room, reading room, and gorgeous outdoor area. In the evening, the staff prepared the living room with a variety of self-serve refreshments, ice, and whisky glasses for those who wished to consume their recent purchases from the Islay distilleries. Our room was better than I could've asked for. We got the two twin beds room, it had a spacious and modern bathroom, and even a very cozy sitting area with TV. Beds were comfortable. We had to check-out early the next morning in order to make the 645 ferry back to the mainland, so we were bummed we couldn't take advantage of the provided breakfast. However, Thomas and his team went above and beyond to pack us sandwiches, juices, fruits, and waters for us to take onto the ferry. Islay is just beautiful, and I would love to go back one day. When I do, I will be sure to stay at Skerrols House again! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Islay!
