Grote Goesting holiday house offers accommodations in Wevelgem, 9.2 miles from Phalempins Metro Station and 10 miles from Colbert Metro Station. This house was in a perfect location for exploring many parts of Belgium as well as northern France. It was very well equipped and had lots to do there in the evenings, especially for our teenagers...they loved it! We were 6 people and there was plenty of space for all of us! The hosts were very nice and made a wonderful dinner recommendation for us and even went as far as to make the reservation for us...so kind! I would definitely recommend this place!

Lovely place to visit with the advantage of the proximity of Kortrijk which is only 1 train stop away (4 minutes) , good bus and rail connections to other parts of the country. Enough places to eat in the neighbourhood and the house has everything to offer like fridge, TV, bath and shower. Further the host is prepared to meet you in person and the check in times are very flexible because there is full communication before your planned trip with Michelle. Only negative point, there is no sign on the door for tourists so do not forget to check the number of the house in the street.
Lovely town, vibrant and young, night life in the open, music; beautiful historical town centre, with many shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs, where you could try local cuisine and beers, as well as plenty of cultural events.
This is a little gem of a place, next to the rivers, lovely squared, architecture, parks and historic areas. Thoroughly lovely place to visit and explore and being on a train line there is easy access to Lille and other towns in Belgium. Also being only 1.5 hours from calais it's super quick to get there. Great little town.
I am genuinely impressed with Kortrijk. I had not really thought of it before as a place to go, but it is a friendly, clean and interesting place to go - and a great base for exploring the area, be it Flanders or Lille or even Ghent. The centre is a joy to walk around - how good is it to take in cafes cleaning the pavements outside early in the morning, to walk to a neighbourhood bakery that is open Sunday mornings?
A shame that there are so many works in the streets. I recommend the 1302, beguinage, the other small beguinage and the walk around the river. What is definitely not good is that all covered parkings at the city centre close at 2:00 am.
We were there because of info day at Howest University. My son was in Kjortrijk for one week last year (as an exchange stay of high school - which has been going there more then 30 years). He may come back to University. We can return to Kjortrijk more often.
