Just across the road from Toowoomba Aerodrome, Sunray Inn offers air-conditioned accommodation with flat-screen cable TV. It features, undercover parking, a saltwater swimming pool and BBQ facilities.... Our room was very comfortable and spacious with a small table and chairs and also 2 armchairs. Our booking was a late choice on a weekend that was heavily booked for the area. Our original booking had not been notified we needed a ground floor apartment so we had to cancel it. Toowoomba Hospital Apartments was expensive for what we got..It was old and had limited hot water. At $190 for the night I felt it was too expensive for what we got.. In its defence it was clean and we were notified how to access key from the safe.
The shower in the ablutions block was a bit low in height for someone as tall as me, but it certainly had the pressure they warn you about and was hot! I don't need air cond in Toowoomba's climate, some might find that trying- I'd recommend seeing if there were classier cabins there if you need this facility. Some of the doors in the budget room were a tad outdated and stuck a bit, but, hey, at $100 a night, you can't be too picky. Look, the product is as advertised; a budget room; and f thats your expectation, it ticks many boxes other in this bracket don't.
It’s very diverse, lots of sightseeing, plenty of places to go and eat. The Asian gardens are at their best in spring and autumn as they are my favourite time of year. Has some great places to go shopping. Once of the main road through town the side streets look pretty with all the jacaranda trees that have been growing for over a hundred plus years. If you want to see them in full bloom then visit for the yearly flower festival held every spring.
Toowoomba is great. Smaller than the likes of Brisbane city, but bigger than the average country town. I'm a fan, we'll be back. Toowoomba is very easy to navigate, being mostly laid out in a grid pattern. Easy to walk around the heart of the city for shopping and food.
My accomodation at the met hotel the place is not what it is advertising. In Toowoomba be aware you must have funds for parking.thete is no free parking on offer. Also be aware youth crime rate high do not keep valuables in full vision. Do not walk arround on your own of evening Toowoomba is a really good place for shopping and eateries. I would recommend the post office hotel or coffee club for a good coffee and egg Benny
Toowoomba is within easy reach of people from Brisbane or other parts of Southern Queensland looking a short break. The city is large enough to have the facilities and entertainment options for travellers, and small enough to get around easily. If you are travelling during one of the major events during the year, such as the Carnival of Flowers, it is essential to book accommodation in advance. I visited recently during the Toowoomba Marathon, which is a sizeable event but does not result in crowding. Public transport is available in Toowoomba, but has limited operating hours on some routes, so taking your own vehicle or a taxi can be necessary for some trips. Two attractions which are most appealing are the Cobb and Co Museum and, if you are going to the cinema, the historic Strand cinemas in the city centre.
