The cottage was immaculate but also styled to a very high spec - my family were super impressed. The code access was easier than trying to find and remember keys all the time, beds were super comfy and everything you needed was available. When i stupidly left a much treasured watch behind, the cleaner handed it in immediately and Hannah posted it straight back to me. My husband and I will definitely return to Carpenter’s cottage and use it as our base in the lakes- could not recommend this cottage more highly.

I loved how big the house was and how many great facilities there were. Hot tub was also very well maintained. I highly recommend staying in the hot tub after dark, turning off all the lights and watching the stars on clear nights. It was incredible. The pictures of the house don’t do it justice either. 2 en suites and one main bathroom. The kitchen was perfect and the outdoor furniture was great too.
The location was amazing - beautiful view and very quiet, with an off-license across the road for groceries and quick, easy access into town. The house itself is easy to access and comfortable to be in, and very clean. The bed was a bit hard, but not totally uncomfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were more than adequate. Ant, the host, was brilliant in his communication and gave us some great local recommendations. 100% would stay here again!
Garden Cottage is beautifully presented in an elevated position. Chris and Jill are lovely hosts and provided a range of welcome provisions for our arrival and offered helpful guidance on nearby walks and beauty spots. The kitchen was very well equipped with unexpected additions including a coffee maker and air fryer. The bedrooms were bright and airy with comfortable beds assuring a restful sleep. The double aspect lounge allowed opportunity for relaxation in the evenings after days of touring and sight seeing.
Quiet - unintrusive. Self check in was easy, no keys, secure easy to use lock pad. room and bed comfy> nice touch to have a fridge and kitchen utensils. Common room lounge comfy with basic kitchen facilities.
Cottage is cute but spacious with comfy kingsize beds, good shower and nice size kitchen / diner with tv. Has everything you need for a break away self catering and it’s also dog friendly with plenty walks.
Perfectly located for parking up for a few days and being able to walk everywhere as it’s right in the heart of Kendal town centre surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurant’s. Short walk to Kendal castle for great views across the town
