On the other side of the Warnow River is the Maritime Museum. The Neue Messe exhibition centre is just south, while north is the seaside town of Warnemünde, now considered part of greater Rostock. The next door lighthouse guards the entrance to the river which runs parallel to cobbled Alexandrinenstraße with its colourful half-timbered bungalows.
