Take a trip on a Sunday morning to one of the local churches to listen to the harmonious Polynesian Choirs, it's incredible. Perfect sea in every possible shade of blue, soft white sand beaches and amongst some of the most amazing dive sites on planet earth. Napoleon Wrasse, Eagle Rays and Hawksbill Turtles, The reef system will stay etched in my mind forever. Perfect for solo travellers wanting to meet like minded people and wishing to get away from the more touristy side of the Pacific, Aitutaki Budget Accommodation is the only place to go! Great place to stay and very clean. Beds are comfy and like the leg lighting in the room. We received a lovely welcome from Elaine when we arrived who greeted us by name when we walked in which made us feel special. We arrived at 8am and didn’t expect the room to be ready until normal checkin time but Elaine said the room is available for us. We were so happy be able to have the room ready early as we were so tired and hadn’t adjusted to the time zone yet. Elaine herself is a real asset to ocean escape she is warm and friendly with a lot of knowledge and can book or recommend anything you need. The room is stocked with everything you need to cook a nice breakfast and some extra snacks if you are feeling peckish. They have a tapas bar there too called bjs, the cocktails there are the best in the Cook Islands we have been travelling around trying them all and these ones by far are the best! The Pina colada and mojito are a must try. Thank you

Tai Roto Bay offers spacious, authentic accommodation located on its own private beach on the southern tip from Ootu beach. It is a beach front property and safe to swim at all tides. Location was out of this world beautiful. White sand, gorgeous palms, turquoise water. Wonderful fresh local breakfast, sweet staff, beautiful room with ability to cook in. Super clean, easy parking.

Matriki Beach Huts provide absolute beachfront accommodation on the sunset side of the island. You can enjoy snorkelling from the beautiful white sand beach right at the front of the property. Loved absolutly everything! You must try to believe it ;) Very cosy cottage, great bed, well equiped, beautiful views, great snorkell, just seriously paradise !!!! Have scooters (25$) and free old bikes or newer for 10$ for whole day !!! Super cool place omg ❤️
