Breakfast was average with few good options but you had to pay extra like fresh orange juice. Infinity pool was very nice and our room had good view of the sea as we paid extra for that and it was worth it.

In general it was a good place. Even though around Maafushi there is a lot of construction going on! It had all the facilities needed, comfy, with a Sea View etc. A little bit pricey though.

Maafishi is one of the must visit places in the Maldives.
Maafishi is one of the must visit places in the Maldives. Even though most of the island is under construction, it's lovely. There are great restaurants, souvenir shops, and lovely beaches. Its whole atmosphere is relaxed, but if you want an adventure, you can easily book a one day trip, or you can try the watersports. The thing that was a bit annoying for me was that there is only one small bikini beach, that isn't the greatest, and in order to go to another beach, you have to cover up. Also if you'de prefer a cool brink, forget it. There is no alcohol available on the whole island.

maafushi is a good place to find affordable rooms and have a great island experience, day excursions including shark snorkling, island hopping, and resort visits make it worth while to stay at maafushi instead of a resort which is way to pricy for what it offers.

It's far from the best or most beautiful island, but the amount of trips you can do from here and the prices they are offered for, are really good. Wouldn't spend more than 4 or 5 days here, just to do some trips and then move on to one of the more beautiful (and quiet) islands.

Vacation on an exotic development site with good connections.
We liked Hummus bar and Icom tours. Come here if you want to do a lot of things, not just snorkeling near the island or laying on the beach.

I have not visited other islands to compare but Maafushi has been accommodating and offers a variety of food options and hospitable people.
There was just too much construction going on which ruined the Island vibe.
Maafushi can be explored completely in 3 hours max. I walked around saw everything i could including locals houses.
It is 30 minutes by speedboat for $25 to Male.
You can ask for help from anyone. They are all helpful people.
Please respect the culture.

Maafushi was the last stop on our 9-island-hopping Maldives...
Maafushi was the last stop on our 9-island-hopping Maldives trip, and after staying on much quieter local islands, in small guesthouses, Maafushi was a shock to the system! Maafushi itself is very touristy, neon signs and cheap souvenirs, high rise buildings and building work going on everywhere, water sports vendors line the road, restaurants were twice the price and half as good as other local islands, and the call to prayer was replaced with house music and Bob Marley. As one of the first local islands opened to tourists, it has that "Thailand backpackers from 20 years ago" feel to it which is exactly what we were there to experience. There's two big hotel chain names on the island, both with multiple hotels, and their own shops, restaurants, water sports, and excursion vendors. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend if you're looking for a Maldives hotel experience at a fraction of the cost of the resorts with lots of holiday activities to choose from.

This nice little hotel is in a great position, just next to bikini beach, the port and all the shops and restaurants of the island. The restaurant is one of the best in Maafushi. They clean the rooms everyday. The staff is friendly and available for every request. Special mention for the beautiful Issa and his smile, which made the stay even more pleasant.
The hotel is in a very good location right next to the main beach on Maafushi Island. The beach is easily accessible from the hotel.
Since Maafushi is very well connected to airport, the receiving guys at Kaani counter in the airport were able to arrange an earlier boat than the scheduled boats.
The dinner was okay.
Great location and great hospitality by hotel’s staff, especially Mr Magic. He can advise and arrange everything from A to Z for us. Thanks for providing us a magical experience during our stay at Maafushi. Not to forget to mention that the room is nice, clean and comfy as well.
Nice room with a big bathroom…
It was the only hotel in Maldives where I understand the high prices of the hotels there (from 4 we stay in total)
Breakfast buffet was good (even can order extras without pay again …like omelet or hot chocolate)…
Also the stuff was great …
Very good location in the heart of maafushi. The host shafiq was really nice, friendly, and helpful. He gave me valuable information on exploring the maldives and helped with arranging tours at reasonable prices.
