Pukaki Air Lodge, hotel in Twizel

Offering mountain views, Pukaki Air Lodge in Twizel offers accommodations, barbecue facilities, a terrace and a shared lounge. Complimentary WiFi is available.

This place is a hidden gem. Everything was brand new and super clean. Rooms were spacious, bathroom was modern and great shower pressure. So quiet! BONUS! - Dark Sky Preserve area so at night we went outside and saw the most amazing star show ever. It's 5 minutes out of town so there was no light pollution. BONUS: Clear view of Mt Cook from patio with no hiking. Owners had thought of all the small details - built in USB charger on a power strip by the bed, touch lamps on bedside, giant TV, kitchen had a wonderful breakfast. Gigantic lounge for guests to use. Interesting aviation memorabilia in the reception. Wish I would have stayed longer.

It was just right for us because we do not ride bikes or do sports which could keep others another day. The town is lovely. The restaurants are great. Walked to the river and we were the only people there. People nice too. There is an olympic clean new looking pool there and if a warm day I suggest using it. It was so reasonable in price too and few people in it.

We love Twizel and visit it as often as we can. Fishing in the canals is fun. Sunrise and sunsets are stunning! Clay cliffs are a must see. We explored Lake Ohau and some of the canals this time. Everyone is friendly. Cute shops in the shopping area.

Great location, nice resteraunts & cafes. Shops good especially hardware shop, not far from Aoraki Mount Cook. Great for cycling, walking. We found Ministry of Works best restaurant as staff really worked hard to give great service and food. Bakery cafe great food too.

Twizel is a great base for all the wonderful activities the region has to offer--dark skies, Alps to Ocean, Āoraki, incredible lakes, hot springs, hiking. A lot of very good restaurants with something for all tastes. Two or more grocery stores, with great wine selections and customer service. Great outfitters for biking.

We have been here a few times now and love it. It is the gateway to Mt Cook - we have done a heli hike, some wonderful walks and tramps, taken in the rivers and lakes, soaked in the hot tubs, eaten at local restaurants, shopped in the local stores, star gazed .... the list goes on. The locals are super friendly - Twizel is just down the road from Tekapo but is nowhere near as busy or commercial. Accessible from Christchurch or Queenstown - you can fly into one, rent a car and fly out from the other, or just do a round trip. We will be back !!

Restaurants and cafes very busy and some were closed.

Restaurants and cafes very busy and some were closed. Since it was Easter Sunday and the finish of Warbirds Airshow, we had difficulty finding somewhere to have dinner and certainly no place for breakfast.

A spacious, comfortable and modern room that felt nice and private. Everything was clean, tidy and there's a handy folder with recommendations of local walks / things to do. It's a good location, an easy walk to various bars / restaurants and parking was simple. There's a small car park (accommodating around 3 cars) for the hotel but you're down a quiet side street so there's plenty of roadside parking also.

This motel was clean and it worked perfectly for a family of five. Most motels or hotels make finding a space for 5 very difficult. I loved that this was not connected to other rooms. The motel was warm on arrival and our large bed was very comfortable. I have stayed here twice now and I absolutely love it, super reasonable in pricing. Thank you so much for a smooth easy enjoyable stay.

We stayed in Cabin 1. A basic, but comfortable cabin attached to reception. Good for kids. Our 9 year old soon found a playmate. very friendly staff and fellow visitors. A good old fashioned Kiwi holiday destination. Very handy location for all Twizel has to offer.

The price is reasonable and the room was comfy. The staff were very friendly. Also the hotel allowed us to checkin late than the time mentioned in the website, which made our travel plan more flexible.
