This was my third time in Vulcano and the Aeolian Islands. Wonderful hotel. Highly recommended! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
The Garden is just 328 feet from the volcanic sands of Ponente Beach on Vulcano Island. This renovated 1970s building with garden features a traditional Eolian style.
Therasia Sea and SPA is set on the peninsula of Vulcanello, with views of the Eolian Islands. This impressive building in white stone features a modern spa, and a private access to the sea.

The location...amazing spot in the isle of Vulcano
Located in Vulcano, a 8-minute walk from Porto di Ponente Beach, Villa Saracina has accommodations with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a tennis court.
Frendly and helpful staff. Setting is great, pool perfect
Les Sables Noires is located on the island of Vulcano, 295 feet from a black-sand beach. It offers a garden with outdoor swimming pool and views of the splendid Ponente Bay. WiFi is free throughout.
Amazing Location, Peaceful, Nice Beach, Nice People
Hotel Aura is 1640 feet from Vulcano Harbor. It offers a quiet position, an outdoor pool and a flower garden. An Italian sweet breakfast is provided daily and a bar is also available.
Incredible wee island. Loved that you could cycle everywhere easily, there were lots of mini adventures to be had e.g. Vulcanello crater, snokelling, Monte Saraceno, Capo Grillo viewpoint & of course the Vulcano crater hike.
Lots of great places to eat, cute, off the beaten track feel. We loved how quiet everywhere was in October.

I love Volcano.
I love Volcano. The relaxed, laid-back atmosphere has brought me back half a dozen times and it never fails to delight. Sadly Maurizio's restaurant is no longer in operation but there are still some other places to eat that don't disappoint.
Walking up the volcano is always fun, though they have restricted access to the zone of the fumaroles now, and the mud-pools have been closed completely. I was told this is because they have got too hot. We also went to visit the cat colony who are situated on Vulcanello, and was pleased to see that they have been moved to more comfortable quarters.
Swimming in the sea - especially where it's sprinkled with hot bubbles - is always a delight. The Spiaggia Nera (black-sand beach) has not hot bubbles but is really pleasant.
My only gripe with Vulcano (and the whole of Sicily) is that there is too much litter everywhere. It could really do with a good clean-up. The friendly, relaxed people go a long way towards making up for it ... maybe if they weren't so relaxed they would organise some clean-ups!

The Spiaggia delle Acque Calde is a must-go place, probably the only place in the world with sulphuric gas coming out from the seabed to warm the water like a natural jacuzzi. The mudpool next to it is also very good, it might look dirty from outside but once you are in it, it gets less smelly of sulphur and you feel like having a caffe latte bath!

Vulcano has a lovely laid-back vibe.
Vulcano has a lovely laid-back vibe. Everyone, from Maurizo (he has a restaurant not far from the supermarket - completely recommend it) is friendly but not over-friendly. The volcano is fascinating to climb, fumaroles fascinating to observe and the beaches are fascinating to frequent, with their sparkling black sands, and even the semi-feral cats are well-cared for.
The mud-baths are great but also a bit feral at the moment - I think they are going to upgrade them ... wear flip-flops around the edges and be careful not to tread where the bubbles are as feet can get scorched ...

We recommend the restaurant La Isla, great pasta in huge portions, you can easily share one plate and have a secondo piatto. The 40 mins walk uphill to Valley dei Mostri is a total waste of time as there are only 2 or 3 rocks vaguely ressembling animals. The place is desolate and depressing. We never found the entrance to the Vulcanello as it is not posted. Equally uninterresting is the Agua calda beach. The water is vaguely tepid at best, the water blurry and the bottom rocky. It is a tourist trap to rent chairs and umbrellas. The La Baia Negra beach is infinitely better. The tour of the island by bus is a delight but a bit expensive at 30 euros per person for an hour, but since there is nothing else to do and the alternative is to rent a car or a scooter - but there is nowhere to go, apart from small Geco, since everything is located around the port. The walk to the volcano has been closed for nearly a year because of excessive gasses. The mud baths are also closed. So, you come to Vulcano for the beach, the scenery, and Giuliana !

It’s a special place as the island is a volcano.
It’s a special place as the island is a volcano. The surrounding is very special, black sand and lots of fishes to see. It’s much more expensive than Sicily and quite touristic. It’s great for diving and has a great diving center.
Not the classic beach you might be thinking of and has a strong smell of sulfur.
Gorgeous view and beautiful sea

The room was clean and quiet with a nice private terrace from which we had a direct view up to the smoking Grand Cratere. Amazingly there was always a fresh wind on the terrace despite the hot weather. The host took plenty time to introduce us and to explain us in perfect English the many possibilities of a stay on Isola Vulcano.
Great hotel in a perfect location just a couple of minutes walk from the ferry. And the perfect place to set out and explore this wonderful island from.
The hotel check in staff were so helpful and professional. They also ran the ticketing agency as well.
Best location on Vulcano (great walk to the sand beach as it’s right on the beach and good distance to shops) very clean rooms, air con, breakfast, and the staff!
