I like the ambience, the woodsy feel and the shared open spaces. Our room was large and the balcony and its view nice. We loved the cookies! That it’s a short walk from cafes and the beach is a big plus!

Had never been to the Oregon coast before and was surprised at how beautiful it was . We enjoyed waking on the beaches, hiking in the parks, eating seafood, going to Tilamook factory and nearby capes beaches and light houses. Even saw some whales from the shore.

Cannon Beach is a charming town, set off the highway.
Cannon Beach is a charming town, set off the highway. But we had a hard time finding room at a restaurant without a long wait. (mid August, week days) One night we struck out 4 times before going to a fast food type burger/fish place. I think they need more restaurants for the amount of tourists that visit Cannon Beach! Make reservations if you can.

Cannon Beach is one of the best walking beaches in Oregon.
Cannon Beach is one of the best walking beaches in Oregon. The views of Haystack Rock are magnificent and, at least during our stay, there were not large crowds on the beach.
The town is also very walkable, with shops, cafes, and even a community theatre. We have attended several plays at the theatre and enjoyed them.

Cannon Beach has the perfect combination of breath-taking nature, a quaint village, cute shops, and good dining experiences. Cannon Beach Bakery was a perfect spot for coffee and treats. (A line started forming at their 7 a.m. opening time.) We enjoyed seafood at Mo's with fantastic outdoor seating watching the waves. Pig N' Pancake was too expensive for breakfast fare. The second morning we opted for making our own after purchasing some supplies at Mariner Market.
Ecola State Park is a must visit just north of Cannon Beach. The drive into the park is beautiful in and of itself, but the view once parked is not to be missed. We enjoyed hiking in the park. Ocean views from within a forest are uncommonly gorgeous.

The inn at haystack Rock was terrible.
The inn at haystack Rock was terrible. Over priced $245 for a 10 ×12 renovated 1960 beach shack. The pictures do not match room. Motel 6 in Seaside rents for $160. The town of Canon Beach is only 3 blocks long and very walkable. The whole town sites on the beach. You are better off staying the night in Seaside 10 minutes away and just driving over for the day. Room does NOT match the pictures. NO kitchen, nothing but a coffee pot and small refrigerator. Bathroom 6×6. Room 10 × 12. I want my money back. Rate this place at 2 not 8.4.

Meals were great that we ate out.
Meals were great that we ate out. Especially liked the fresh Dungeness crab we had one night at cottage. Brought food with us.
Getting around at night not easy as street signs difficult to read due to poor lighting. Much easier once we drove around in daylight and learned our way.
Walking the beach; going to park; exploring the area.
Location! There is almost no better location to Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach. Access to the beach was fantastic and close enough to walk into "town" for restaurants. The staff was welcoming and we enjoyed the warm chocolate chip cookies.
