Lake George is a tourist town with a lot of the same things in most shops, with a few unique shops. We usually avoid L.G. proper and go to the surrounding wineries. This time we went for the Wine & Food fest and was not disappointed at all.

Sadly it doesn't appear they are fully open for the season.
Sadly it doesn't appear they are fully open for the season. Things appear to be working on "Covid" hours. Many places closed at 8 PM. It's a vacation area and you have kids........ Need ice cream after 8 :)

Lake George is an amazing place to relax, breathe, and enjoy a vacation. I enjoy walking around the lake, riding a boat tour to explore the lake, and seeing the fancy houses surrounding the lake. Also, you can swim on a little beach with a view of the mountains and the lake.

Lake George is very pretty and there is much to do. Very popular and something for everyone. Many places to eat which we enjoyed very much (i.e. The Boardwalk and The Lagoon.). The kids went parasailing for the first time.. Lots of ice cream shops. Friendly people. Memorial Day weekend weather was perfect for us.

Lake George is truly beautiful we drove around it and enjoyed the forests and small scenic villages. We did not like the Village of Lake George which is fast becoming a tacky beach town with countless tee shirt shops and noisy restaurants. The highlight of our trip was visiting Sagamore Resort, reflecting the early days on the lake.

Lake George is nice on and off season.
Lake George is nice on and off season. During off seasons it may be a bit harder to entertain the kids. After memorial day everything opens for fun from the little smaller arcades and rides to the beaches and Six flags/Water Park. The water park indoors at 6 flags is open off seaso . On season and off season usually are on the higher side of pricing. Very clean area, beautiful scenery with plenty to do and see so the money is worth it. If you're a fan of hot dogs, street corn and tacos with a nice cold lemonade (680 flavor options i believe) Check out the lemonade stand a few buildings over from the fort! would love to camp or rent a cabin for the fourth but could only imagine the demand!
We rented a lakeview townhouse that looked over Lake George. The size of the townhouse, sleeping accommodations, and kitchen were all very good. There were lots of activities available at the resort but we were limited to a one night's stay so we didn't get to participate in them. We would love to try them when we have a longer stay.
Location was convenient. Trolley to Lake George Village stop in front of location. No breakfast was offered, but coffee pot and coffee in the room and brewed .coffee also available in the office
