Pear Tree Inn St. Louis Near Union Station, hotel in Saint Louis

Less than 10 minutes’ walk from Saint Louis Union Station and the Scottrade center, this hotel features flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi in every guest room.

It's located very close to the Fox Theater, which is why we stayed there (and paid more than I normally would for a hotel in St. Louis). For those who may be interested, it is right across the street from the new soccer stadium.

The view of the arch was interesting. Getting to the parking was a nightmare! The roads were a mess! GPS takes you through abandoned portions of town. They should destroy the road system and start over!

So much more to St, Louis than beer and baseball.

So much more to St, Louis than beer and baseball. Grants Farm: for history, Clydesdales, free tram tour, activities for children. The Campbell House downtown for a marvelous experience; the aquarium at Union Station for rays, otters and sharks, the SL art museum and grounds. The Hill for great Italian dining, the Arch and Cardinals baseball. I’ve only scratched the surface.

My sister now resides in a very busy section of St. Louis.

My sister now resides in a very busy section of St. Louis. I found driving on unfamiliar roads unnerving. There was lots of car traffic on the roads. I am not a confident driver. (I am 77 years old and this was my first time traveling alone to a new place.) I am sure that I will find a second trip to visit my sister less stressful.

Very walkable, went out at night to view the arch and felt safe but didn’t stay out past 9pm. Plenty of people out and about during that time. Walked down to the City Garden Sculpture Park after dinner what a nice place in the middle of a big city. Loved all the big pots of flowers around the city.
