Oak Bluffs is a great place to stay if you're visiting the vineyard. The area is down to earth and accessible to both Vineyard Haven and Edgartown for a quick trip. Definitely recommend getting a late night donut from Back Door Donuts while you're there.

We loved being able to walk to everywhere we needed.

We loved being able to walk to everywhere we needed. The bus tour we took was very interesting- I recommend it! Henry and Anique at the Capricorn House made our stay even more wonderful! The sunrise was so pretty and the location of the Capricorn House couldn't be beat to see it. People at Martha's Vineyard were all very friendly and the staff who worked at the restaurants we went to were all very accommodating and happy to help- great service everywhere. The food was delicious- everything we ate was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.

The staff were very kind and helpful.

The staff were very kind and helpful. They reached out to us prior to our arrival and offered good ideas for things to do and places to eat. They booked our tour and made sure everything was smooth. We went on the African Heritage Trail tour which was full of history and gave us a true appreciation for the history of Oak Bluffs. The Inkwell is a lovely, well kept ocean view inn We walked everywhere. Got off the ferry walked 10 minutes to the Inkwell and walked all over Oak Bluffs. We were glad we didn’t take our car.

In the summer, Martha’s Vineyard is a desirable vacation destination and can get crowded. We were able to enjoy the best of the Vineyard without the crowds (and higher costs) by traveling the week before the start of the summer season. There are buses that run between the towns and you can also rent bikes and scooters to get around. Because we were traveling in the off-season we rented a car and grabbed breakfast at the Black Dog Tavern in Vineyard Haven before making our way out to Aquinnah to see the lighthouse and cliffs at Gays Head. We made our way from there to Edgartown where we shopped (check out the Soft as a Grape store there!) and watched the boats and Chappy ferry from deck above the ferry. We wrapped up our day back in Oak Bluffs with sunset appetizers and drinks at the Lookout Restaurant.

Oak Bluffs is such an amazing and cute town. Lots of places to shop and eat. Cute historical buildings. Love the gingerbread houses! Best lobster roll you'll ever have at Martha's Vineyard Chowder Co!

There is so much rich history there.

There is so much rich history there. A definite place to visit. Don’t miss the early morning polar bear experience in the inkwell beach. Lots of nice shops and hidden art galleries. More than enough ice cream shops. Back door donuts was a nice late night treat but don’t let the long line deter you it moves rather quickly. Definitely need a car and take the time to visit all parts of the vineyard. Food was ok, not great. I was surprised that fish was not more plentiful on the menus. Must try Lobster roll, it’s everywhere.

This was one of the nicest holiday houses I've ever stayed in. Not only was it in prime position to enjoy Oak Bluffs and Martha's Vineyard, but the house was beautifully appointed. Everything was clean, crisp, modern and extremely comfortable. Highly recommended!

It is a charming place to stay. As they have spacious spaces, you can enjoy your staying in the hotel too, not only in your room. We had a quite room with garden view.
