While I was there, the owner, who normally lives in Germany, was there. He was super kind, attentive, and accommodating, even offering to give me and my tour guide (which he arranged for me) a ride to the bus station.
The kitchen is a blessing (though the sink pressure is awful). The outdoor area and garden are lovely and offer great views of the city, as well as some medicinal plants..
They offer many tours, which are pretty diverse, comprehensive, and reasonably priced, though beware if youre traveling alone: there's a minimum of 2 people (as with almost all the tours in Tena). My guide was knowledgeable and patient with my mediocre Spanish and even stopped in town after our tour to help me buy things for a healing tea (I had bronchitis) and stayed and made it with me.
Many of the staff knew i was sick and would check in and ask how I was feeling.
Hot shower (but awful pressure).

The property is beautiful. It’s within walking distance to everything but out of the hustle and bustle. Breakfasts were delicious. Tony, our host, was the best. We arrived late one evening and hadn’t been able to book whitewater rafting for the next day, so he made it happen for us with a personally guided tour that was an absolute highlight of our trip. This is a family run business that hires indigenous locals (you can buy some beautiful handicrafts on site) and is practising sustainability.

The property is outside of town in a rule area, which is great. It also has a lot of facilities, including a pool in a restaurant. The staff worked very hard to address some of our dissatisfactions, and even gave us a upgraded room on our third night, which was the first night that they could accommodate that. They provided us with a wonderful referral to a tour company that was fantastic, providing us with Private Tours into Private lands. Check out AMA tours

The place looked great, was very clean, quiet, a great kitchen set up, had Netflix and wifi
Beautiful property off the main road. Only there for one night on our way down to Cuenca. Would have liked to stay longer and enjoy the pool area. Breakfast was phenomenal! Tim also gave us invaluable information regarding our planned drive down to Cuenca which almost certainly saved us from a much longer and potentially disastrous travel day.

Tena is a very peaceful place to spend short holidays or weekends. Although you cannot expect best of the facilities, this place is really good for escaping daily routine and relaxing.
Cavernas de jumandy, puerto mishualli and Laguna azul are some of the must visit places. Transportation facilities are limited and hence it is recommended to hire a car or take your own car.
The Route from Quito to Tena goes through dense forest and hence frequent rains and landslides can be expected. Better to enquire about the route before starting the travel.

No better place in Tena ! Marcia (the owner) is wonderful, so caring, funny and helpful. The hostel is close to shops, mercados and to the bus terminal, but very quiet at the same time. Very friendly vibes and the sweet dogs will make you stay there longer (after stealing your place on the hammock and your heart ;) haha kitchen, rooftop, clean space, comfortable beds, grill.. Amenities are all very good and the space is big. Many activities around Tena, beautiful waterfalls and swimming spots to visit. Muchísimas gracias Marcia 😊
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
They offered a very good breakfast. The room was spacy and the fan provided the necessary coolness.
