Good island for hikers. You can walk to most places - some great beaches within 1 hour. I didn’t need to hire a car.
There weather was great mid October but some places had shut down- this wasn’t a problem for me but it was quiet for those seeking more of a nightlife.

Good experience, nice location, well situated, good mix of shops tavernas and supermarkets for self catering, local bus service a bit limited. Could do with a bar with music to enliven the evening after eating to be picky

Livadi is the sort of place you see in films (Mama Mia,...
Livadi is the sort of place you see in films (Mama Mia, Shirley Valentine) but don’t expect ever to visit. We trundled our suitcases off the ferry and along the main (only) street past fishing boats and restaurants with tables on the narrow sandy beach. Yachts bobbed in the bay. Nothing much else was happening. That was the beauty of it.
The only regular bus service takes you slowly up the very steep hill from the port to the village of Hora…..or you can try walking up on the old mule track, but only if you’re pretty fit. Hora itself is surely one of the prettiest villages in the Cyclades with stunning views.
Beyond Hora, the 2 main attractions of Serifos are its beaches (numerous, beautiful, sandy, warm water) and its hiking trails (spectacular but some better waymarked than others - buy a hiking map in a Livadi supermarket).
Enjoy it - but don’t tell too many other people!

A beautiful real Greek town.
A beautiful real Greek town. Excellent restaurants, bakeries supermarkets pharmacy. Regular bus up to Chora, a must visit village. Port, ferries so close and convenient. I met helpful, lovely local people. There is some great looking accommodation close to town, beach and garden settings. Don't stay above restaurants as noisy.

Best place to stay if you don't have or rent a vehicle.
Best place to stay if you don't have or rent a vehicle. Buses run frequently from the port to Chora, and from another small plateia to various beautiful beaches. The beach of Livadion is great, and the lovely beach of Livadakia just around the corner.
Lots of great restaurants and cafe/bars in the harbor, but it is also worth walking a little further around the bay to Stamatis restaurant, which serves traditionally Greek food excellently prepared. Their fish soup was the best I've had.

Very convenient location, next to the ferry and close to all the restaurants, cafes and shops of Livadi. There was a parking spot right behind the property, which was very helpful.
The hotel, even though centrally located, was very quiet because it was one of the last hotels uphill.
The hostess is very sweet, helped us with keeping our baggage for as many hours as we wished.
The room was cleaned every day and was always tidy.

Hotel Albatross is in a great location, very walkable distance from a variety of restaurants, shops, markets, and the ferry port. Though simple, the rooms have everything necessary for your stay & are a great value for the price. The owner was welcoming & hospitable, made me coffee each morning & allowed me use of the kitchen to make my breakfast! I would definitely stay again! As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe & comfortable.
A great place to stay - perfectly placed in Livadi; clean apartment well-equipped with a nice balcony. Handy for the port amenities, but set back far enough for noise not to be a problem. Really handy for the great beach at Livadakia. Hope to come back.
