Able to see great views of the mountains from the property grounds. The AC in my room was one of if not the best functioning AC unit I’ve come across in Vietnam. The bedroom & bathroom were also amongst the cleanest I’ve boarded in. The shower heads were also the best functioning of all hostels/hotels I’ve stayed at, the water pressure is hands down the best I’ve encountered as well.

We did the Phuong Nha Kayak tour and this was awesome.
We did the Phuong Nha Kayak tour and this was awesome. We went way past where the boats go and went into two different caves. One cave we went in over 1 kilometre. We had the option of a mud bath and swimming. A much better experience than just hoping in a boat and going into the cave and out again.
We went to paradise cave. This is a must do. We only did the 1 km boardwalk. We road there on a bike. No need for a tour. Next time I would do the 7km hike into the cave but this is a tour.

The National park and the caves are absolutely stunning and...
The National park and the caves are absolutely stunning and it’s a bit off the beaten track, so luckily not overrun by tourists. It was the highlight of our trip. The environment is quiet, green and rural and we enjoyed our stay very much. It is so nice to just get a bicycle and enjoy the environment!

The best place for vacation that I have been in Vietnam. There is plenty of nature to explore and immerse in, and it is quiet at night. Everybody is very helpful. Even though it is harder to find decent foods places. The town is small so you can either rent bikes or walk around.

DIY the caves yourself: All the of popular caves close to town are DIY posible. Rent a motorbike to do the road loop to Paradise and The Dark Cave. Phong Nha Cave....just walk to the main boat area and pay for your own boat and ticket to see the cave. At the Dark Cave they give you a guide for your entrance fee. Paradise is just a simple drive up to it, pay 275,000d and walk though it. With the tours you'd not get enough time to really enjoy them I think.

The Phong Nha Cave trip by boat was amazing, and a highlight of our 4 and a half weeks in Vietnam. We could've also included a 7km walk in the cave but were not sure how difficult that would be (climbing etc). This cave needs to be one of the wonders of the world, it is that good!
If we were coming here again, we would have chosen a cooler time of the year. We endured temperatures in the high 30s which was debilitating. I would be much more careful in choosing our accommodation too as our home stay accommodation consisted of a shipping container, very basically modified and far below a reasonable standard that domestic and overseas tourists should be able to expect.

Phong Nha is an absolute must stop on a tour of Vietnam.
Phong Nha is an absolute must stop on a tour of Vietnam. So many people have never heard of it, but it's fantastic. Yes, we loved the caves but we loved the scenery, the fun at Dark Cave, the relaxed vibe.
4 nights was perfect for us as we had a 3 week trip limit and other places to see, but if I wasn't on that restriction I'd stay longer.
