It's conveniently located if you prefer to explore Colca from less touristy side (Mirador de San Miguel). Hotel looked better than I expected, comfy bed, plenty of blankets for the cold night. It was a good value for money. Village is a bit sketchy but I assume you don't go to Peru for glamour

A great location right on the river bank, and the dining room has a wonderful view.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde.
In Covid times, it was hard to get to Cabanaconde. There is only one official bus (Andalucia) and it departs from Arequipa very early or too late. There are also collectivos people can take to get there (local buses). Once there, the village is great, people are so helpful and the hikes are amazing!
Please not there is no where to take money out, you absolutely need cash for everything.

The people are really nice.
The people are really nice. I lost my wallet, while paying the fees to get in the park. I went down to Sangelle for one night, and the man (Patricio) who found it, brought it to the tourist place. They called every hotel down to reach me and kept it safe until the next day.
A big thank you!

Perfect base for hiking colca canyon. Rooms are extremely comfortable which is nice before or after a day (or days) of hiking. The staff is helpful with planning your hike plus additional activities you might want to undertake, including all the transportation you might need surrounding your trip. Furthermore, the town in which the hotel is located is very close to all the starting (and ending) points.
Overall, a great hotel that provides in everything needed for a relaxed and beautiful stay in Colca Canyon.
what a fantastic place! And the owner is making it even better, with a roof terrace / restaurant opening later this year. nice garden, clean and comfortable rooms and private bathroom, tasteful breakfast, free tea, friendly and helpful staff! Advise this place over the more expensive, crowded and less comfortable hostels in Cabanaconde.
Nice location and nice room with bathroom!
Very comfy bed and pillows
Had everything needed for the short stay in Cabanaconde!
Very friendly and helpful owner, took us to Cruz del Condor (for a fee) to watch the Condors. Explained and helped us organising the trekking in the canyon!
Breakfast ok!
It is a good place to stay; not overwhelming but fine. The owner is kind and had a place for luggage while we were on a trekking. Breakfast is rather simple, but then it is like that in many hotels in Peru.
