This is a classic Thai hotel built during the Amazing Thailand promotional years to encourage tourism to this seldom visited part of Thailand. As such, it has a uniquely Thai feel, not a cookie cutter modern boutique vibe. Because of its age, it’s a bit tatty, but the public areas are well maintained and some modernization has been done in the rooms. Staff is friendly, breakfast is good. There are some unusual touches like electric vehicle charging and free loaner bicycles for exploring this very Thai town .

The restuarant is situated in the garden with nice green plants around.

Tak is reallly Thailand, not a tourist haven. The riverside is nicely developed, and there is even an incredible pedestrian suspension bridge. People are friendly and the environment is genuine, not contrived. The surrounding countryside is spectacular. Worth staying a day or two!

We have used Berich hotel a few times as our son is in the Army here plus he is often stationed in Mae Sot some 80 kms up a tortuous mountain road.
Since Covid, the breakfast options have been limited due to low patronage but near the weekend there is more choice
Plenry of riverside restaurants on the opposite banks of the River Ping -
The evening market along the river bank (town side) is worth a visit. Bhumibol Dam a few kms away also worth a trip as is the hill-tribe market on the road to Mae Sot.

We stayed in one of the villas which had a lot of room and was very quiet and peaceful. The bed was a extra big king size and had a sitting area attached. Also the bathroom was Hugh. A great place to stay.

Tak city center is a good spot to have a rest as the half way from Bangkok to the north.
Actually Tak is famous for nature activities such as trekking and rafting. The most famous place is "Thi Lor Sue" waterfall which is 200 KM away from Tak city center.
I never been to Mae Sod but many people said it was more lively because there was a Thai - Myanmar boarder market.
