I really liked the overall vibe here. The main lobby / reception area was welcoming and also a great place to just hang out. The hotel was clean and up-to-date. I didn't think the comforter would be thick enough for an always cold person like me, but it was really warm and cozy. Also, the hotel was in a great location, a little separate from the other larger hotels in the area, so it didn't feel like everyone on your street was a tourist. Staff was always friendly and helpful too.

Perfect position, comfortable room with a great view
Unique, arty, traditional and lively pretty much sums up the great mix that the island of Tromsø has to offer. The city is home to the unique Arctic Cathedral, an array of pubs, cafés and an energetic street culture.
If you’re planning a day of sightseeing be sure to visit Tromsø Museum, Polar Museum, the University Museum of Tromsø, Mack Brewery, and the Arctic Alpine Botanic Garden.
The city’s main square often holds a variety of markets and its streets are lined with colourful and old-style buildings and houses. Tromsø is one of the best places to view the amazing colours of the Northern Lights.
Nicknamed the ‘Gateway to the Arctic’ due to being a launching point for polar expeditions, Tromsø provides numerous activities such as hiking and kayaking during summer, and skiing and dog-sledding in winter, all in a backdrop of eye-catching scenery.
Tromsø is easily accessible from major cities such as Tallinn, Oslo and Helsinki and Tromsø Airport has direct flights to various European destinations. Check-out Booking.com for a selection apartments and hotels in Tromsø and throughout Norway.

Tromsø is a beautiful city full of activities and daily tours such as the Northern Lights, Sami's family, climbing to the top of the mountain by cable car and many other activities, but you must book these activities at least two or three days in advance to guarantee seats.
As for transportation, there are taxis and public buses around the city. I advise you to download the Bolt and Uber applications.

Polar museum was very informative, as was the University museum. Good views from the Fjellheisen cable car. Arctic Cathedral very impressive. Polaria aquarium was good. The tourist information will sell you a single pass to visit all of these attractions.
For food, I would recommend Kaia. For drink, the Mack brewery's Olhallen.

Snow shoeing & Arctic floating were highlights in my latest trip! The food we ate in restaurants was exceptional - both for myself as a vegetarian and for those who eat everything! Having visited Tromso in both the summer and winter, I highly recommend it as a holiday destination, particularly for those looking for a place with a wide range of fun activities, friendly people and beautiful scenery!

Tromso is a great base if you want to go whale watching, and spend some time out with the Sami and their reindeer.
It's a really easy town to walk around, plenty of good shops and restaurants.
It's also one of the best places to go for the northern lights, so worth spending a good amount of time there to get the right conditions.
I'd love to go back again.

We stayed at Top View for a week over New Year as a family of 4. On arrival the accommodation was easy to find and central to both the city centre, Arctic Cathedral and Cable Car. Top View was spotless, spacious, had good facilities and the views were so beautiful! We were able to see the Northern Lights from the living room and balcony and had a fantastic view of the Fireworks on New Years Eve! We would definitely book again if visiting Tromso and would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Tromso.
We stayed twice at the hotel for one day, once when we arrived in Norway, and once when we left. That probably says it all. Very helpful and friendly staff, moderate pricing, clean, functional rooms (not overly big, but as expected) reduced to what you need, but in a nice way. Easy contactless check-in, if you need it. Noise was never an issue, although the hotel is pretty much downtown. Also easily accessible by bus from the airport, if needed.
Location very good, walking distance to all meeting points for the tours that we had, close to bus station and city centre. The food was good, not very much choice but still a couple of dishes to choose from. Considering prices in Norway having a hotel that serves breakfast and dinner is saving you a lot of money. Nothing too fancy but not bad either, pretty good experience overall.
Nice and clean. Very close to the airport and city centre is not far as well and easily accessible via bus or taxi. But stop is right in front of the hotel.
The hotel is close to the city centre, has a beautiful view so you can see the whole city and when the weather is good you can see the Northern Lights.
