The room was absolutely spectacular, well stocked with teas and coffees and toiletries, the bathroom was so impressively nice, so much larger than I anticipated! The staff was absolutely the kindest, most helpful and attentive hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. The location was lovely and the restaurant delicious. I have absolutely no complaints :)

Peaceful location, lovely courtyard room with everything needed, including a very comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast and excellent evening meal on the day we chose to eat there. It was nice staying next to the bar - we could have a drink in the evening without worrying about who was going to drive. We're not golfers, but learned a bit about the sport while we were there! Also was great to be so close to the Nature Reserve and able to walk around Rutland Water.

The location of our accommodation meant we were able to visit several places in Rutland - as well as just on the outskirts - including Stamford, Uppingham, Oakham (and Melton Mowbray on our return home!) Uppingham itself is a small market type town with some interesting independent shops and pubs. Worth a visit for a little mooch around but you don't need too long to walk around the centre/main streets.

Rutland has been aptly described as 'the Cotswolds without the crowds'. The scenery is lovely and villages picturesque. The roads are relatively quiet and we had no difficulty parking in the summer holidays. We spent a pleasant afternoon at Rutland water, which even has it's own beach, with lifeguards.

Centrally placed for National Trust, English Heritage and Historic Houses properties, with equally attractive towns and villages nearby. The Lake Isle restaurant and Don Paddys Bistro are both excellent places to eat, and we would happily eat there again on our next visit.

Uppingham is a really pretty town with a nice range of shops and restaurants. HIghly recommend staying at The Crown pub and visiting the world-famous Goldmark Art Gallery. The art and ceramics are fantastic and the staff are very welcoming. In fact everyone we met in Uppingham was really friendly!
If you want to go for a walk / bird watching- Rutland Water is nearby.
Oakham is also nice to visit - especially the museum.

We didn’t have a long enough stay to visit Uppingham as we were getting together with family at Rutland Water. We briefly drove through it though and it looked pretty. There’s so much to do in this area, you definitely need a lot more time to explore! We only had a couple of days. I would definitely come here for a long weekend or even a week! So many lovely places to visit.

Fantastic service.Friendly welcome. Room very clean and comfortable. Good facilities with kettle and nespresso machine. Good sound proofing on windows did even know the church bells were ringing on Sunday morning until we opened the windows. Good food in the pub for both dinner and breakfast. A great location to wander round Uppingham and the drive to explore Oakham and Rutland Water. Having free on street parking outside was a bonus.
The hotel was lovely. The staff were extremely helpful and very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent made with good quality products and the evening meal was very enjoyable. Value for money was very good and I would certainly stay in this hotel again. The room had everything you would require and the bed was very comfortable. Quiet rural location... perfect.. and free on site parking.. bonus!!! Lovely stay.
Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The kitchen and dining area lend to great entertaining. Comfortable bedrooms with fans in each room. Modern bathrooms and powerful showers. Delightful garden to sit out in and eat meals at the garden table. A lovely quiet neighbourhood. Very convenient for Uppingham shops and Oakham, Stamford and Rutland Water.
