Rutland Water Courtyard Rooms, hotel in Oakham

Rutland Water Courtyard Rooms are located on Rutland Water Golf Course. A restaurant, an on-site bar and free WiFi is available. Free private parking is available on site.

Peaceful location, lovely courtyard room with everything needed, including a very comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast and excellent evening meal on the day we chose to eat there. It was nice staying next to the bar - we could have a drink in the evening without worrying about who was going to drive. We're not golfers, but learned a bit about the sport while we were there! Also was great to be so close to the Nature Reserve and able to walk around Rutland Water.

Friendly staff who went out of their way to fit a friend and myself into dinner even though they were fully booked. As a lone traveller, I felt safe and was guided to my room. Dinner was excellent and staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was prompt and good quality.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location on the bank of Rutland Water so perfect for walkers and nature lovers. Unfortunately, it was just an overnight stop for us on our journey north so we didn't have the opportunity to make the most of it but would return with more time to explore the area. The staff and accommodation were excellent and so helpful in providing us a cold platter for our late arrival after a long journey. The only negative was that the shower was barely warm in the morning and the shower fitting was broken so had to be held up. We discovered this too late to have it remedied before we had to depart. We did advise reception on checking out but were not offered any partial refund or discount on our food and drink bill to compensate which was a little surprising but c'est la vie !

Oakham is a lovely Town with a rich History.

Oakham is a lovely Town with a rich History. The Castle and its collection of horse shoes is worth a visit, as is the first statue of Queen Elizabeth II to be erected after her death. There is a lovely mix of high street and independent shops. It is ideally situated to visit historic Stamford and Burghley House and the beautiful Rutland Water. All in all, a great place to stay.

This location we stayed is not actually in Oakham (we stayed in Hambledon in the middle of Rutland Water) and is excellent if you like walking or watching birds. We ate in the hotel restaurant although if you don't mind a short drive you could go into Oakham. There are also a golf club and sailing club nearbye.

What a lovely town. Plenty of good shops, pubs and eateries. Had a couple of pints in the The George which was very cosy on a cold evening. Then had a really nice Indian meal in Jashir which was good value for four of us.

Rutland Water is a fantastic location to visit.

Rutland Water is a fantastic location to visit. The circular walks/cycle riding paths are 1st class with a mixture of wood trail and tarmac. No swimming in the water but the is a very large aqua park for the kids to enjoy. We found a gem restaurant at The Everest Lounge Church St Oakham. Nepalise, Indian, Asian dishes well worth a visit
