This is a historical hotel with Snowdonia mountain climbing railway right across the street, Dolbadarn castle ruin literally in the backyard on a hill. National Slate museum is within walking distance. The location is perfect.
Surrounded by Snowdonia National Park, the Padarn Hotel is located in the village of Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon, 328 ft from Padarn Lake and is 1640 feet from the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

What an absolute gem of a place to stay! The owners were very welcoming, the hostel is spotlessly clean, and such a quirky set up being an old school. Loved that! Highly recommend a stay! I arrived at night but waking up early and seeing the views from the hostel was lovely, its in a beautiful spot! Please take the time to wander along the road to the old slate quarry, well worth a visit!

Llanberis is a small town with grocery stores, restaurants, and sporting goods stores within walking distance. We experienced it during off-season, it was quiet and peaceful. There were very few visitors around.
We appreciated the bus service allowing us to exlore the area. We especially enjoyed our trip to Betws-y-Coed village which was busier and livelier and if you prefer this kind of vibe, it might be a better choice for you during the quieter months.

Llanberis is a good base for all the hikes around the Eryri (snowdon) National Park. Plenty of bars, restaurants and convenience shops.
It also has a good bus service to get to all the hikes.
Llanberis itself is okay, it is a bit dated. there are plenty of other very cute townships close by which might offer a nicer base. We also spotted many bed and breakfast cottages and pubs around the Eryri national park. Unfortunately we didn't book early enough!

I have visited this charming village several times. The scenery is beautiful with a number of places to visit nearby. The lake, the waterfall, and the mountains all gorgeous. We found the people welcoming in every store or cafe we visited. We enjoyed the sheep wandering the parks. The Slate Museum is great and for non-hikers one can take a steam engine train up My Snowden.

If you are intending to take one of the Snowdon trains be sure to book in advance.
Not many options for dog friendly eating out in the town itself, there is The Heights pub, but it has a limited menu (what they served did look good though).
Parking can be tricky, we were there during a busy period and found it easier to walk into the town than find a parking spot - there are lots of carparks, but they were all full.
Llanberis Spice was a nice surprise, the food was full flavour and had a kick.

The scenery is lovely and there are some great attractions: Snowdon Mountain Railway (book in advance), National Slate Museum (free) and Llanberis Lake Railway. However, this is a small village; we struggled to find somewhere to eat on a Monday and Tuesday evening in June and there were few vegetarian options. If we were returning to the area, we would perhaps stay in nearby Conwy or Carnaefen, which are larger with more going on, and do day trips to Llanberis.

Lovely little village and perfect vacation for anyone wanting to visit Snowdon. You can walk stringent up it or get a bus to Pen-y-Pass and go up via the routes there. Plenty of restaurant, cafes and bars to keep you entertained - our favourite was Becws Melyn which served gorgeous food and delicious drinks!

We were absolutely delighted with our experience at the Royal Victoria Hotel. We came to see the beauty of Wales and climb Snowdon for our Anniversary and we weren’t disappointed! The Hotel staff were fantastic and friendly and made our stay so comfortable in a lovely room with a beautiful view. Also the breakfast was tasty and had a fabulous view too. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family!
Lovely apartment in he heart of Llanberis, easy access to Snowdon, local steam railways, etc. The apartment was very clean, the main bedroom had plenty of space to set-up a travel cot. The kitchen was fully equipped.
The hosts were very kind and left a little tray of cakes. Communication from hosts was great.
We had a lovely stay and explored North Wales. Diolch yn fawr!
Ceris was friendly and accommodating and I very much enjoyed my time in Wales. Only a short walk from the high street, Lake and Snowdon paths. The house is nice and quiet which made sleeping easy. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Llanberis area.
Our trip to Llanberis was made so much better with our stay at Alpine lodge. The staff were so friendly and catered to all our needs. It was so clean and the shower was amazing after walking up Snowdon! There was a lot of options at breakfast too which was lovely.
The location was superb, the best views. The hosts were so wonderful and so helpful and the food was amazing. A true jewel in the crown of Snowdonia. Nothing was too much trouble for Sonni and it was obvious that she cared about the guests and the venue.
