Interesting hotel as the room is actually in a box car. It was small, like most Japanese hotels, but not so small that my 6'4" frame didn't fit okay. There were several restaurants close so food wasn't a problem. We really enjoyed our stay in Ube!

Staff were super friendly and helpful, laundry did a good job washing and drying, breakfast was alright, had good options. Close to the train station, and busses. Close to my favorite Indian curry spot too.

We didn’t really stay long enough to explore the area but it felt very quiet and peaceful. We did enjoy a fun activity of ten pin bowling which we stumbled across on the short walk from the train to the accommodation. In Sundays trains run infrequently so I recommend planning for that.

People in Ube were very kind and generous.
People in Ube were very kind and generous. Local foods are very good, in particular seafood. The train connection is not good; it takes almost one hour from the Shinkansen station. But the flight connection to Tokyo is very good.
