My partner and I stayed at DJANGO the night before we began the Kumano Kodo hike. The location was PERFECT - right across from the train station so we didn't have to carry our luggage far at all. We were able to find food easily. (There was a place serving onigiri and soup at 5am across the street).The staff was very friendly. Accommodations clean (especially for a hostel!). I'm more of a "boutique luxury" kinda gal but this fit my needs and standards well. They also held our luggage for free while we hiked so that was a major bonus!

The Japanese farmhouse was quaint and the hosts provided a welcoming and exceptionally relaxing atmosphere. The food was amazing. I come back and stay again on my next trip to Japan.

The property is basic but good enough for hikers like us trekking the Kumano Kudo. It was clean, warm and comfortable. The host is awesome and dinner was really delicious.

Tanabe was our starting point for our Kumano Kodo trek so we stayed in Tanabe only one day not realizing how much there is to do in Tanabe. If we ever come to Tanabe again, we will be sure to stay longer to enjoy all that there is to do there. I think we could have stayed a whole week if we weren't going on our trek.
Our stay in the Nagano Guesthouse was absolutely amazing!
The host was very friendly, kind and helpful. He made sure to give us all the information we needed for the kumano kodo, gave us tips on where to eat in Kii-Tanabe, picked us up from the station and took us to the trailhead the next morning.
The room was spacious and the futons were very comfortable. We had a microwave and fridge, everything we could have asked for and more.
We were almost sad that we only stayed one night and we hope we can come back one day and stay a little longer.
this is the best hotel that I have stayed in on my trip through Japan so far the owner is a very interesting and lovely person and you can just feel how passionate these people are about their hotel the food was amazing and I enjoyed the onsen and view from my room's window a lot

Mr Hiroki and his wife are so warm and welcoming. They kept in close contact with me upon arrival at Tanabe and when came to pick me up to their guest house. Naoko puts her heart into preparing all the meals and its so delicious!
The host, Hiroki san, picked us up at the Kii-Tanabe train station. We then had a great BBQ by the river. Excellent meals during our stay. Very comfortable apartment with great amenities. Amazing hosts. Highly recommended.
