It’s the people not just the place that make a stay at a hotel an enjoyable experience. From check-in to check-out and from top to bottom, BWH in Lusaka was a memorable stay. Starting off with “D” the hotel manger and Ben at the front desk giving me an amazing check-in experience. “D” brought me straight up to my room and introduced me to all the wonderful amenities it had to offer as well as the services in the hotel. That was a first for me! The hotel is very clean, my room was spacious and bright and even had a bathroom scale in it…..probably to ensure that you don’t over do it at the full service breakfast buffet! And let’s talk about the bedding! Probably the best sheets I’ve ever been between. Ben and Lisa made my stay enjoyable, assisting me with all my needs and securing ride sharing. The wifi was first rate, fast and reliable. I love this place. Easy access to Intercity bus terminal and Levy Mall.

Lusaka is an incredibly overpopulated and busy city with not a whole lot to do for a tourist. You'll have a much better time and experience in Livingstone. Also, as a white American, forget going to the street market because it's nothing but harassment. You can't even shop or look at anything.
Getting around is easy with Yango.
Activities?? Not much. Bowling was fun and the malls are much better than the street markets. Chimanuka was fun, but the planner caused us to miss out on the cheetah walk.

We had come for invasive heart surgery for my husband at Medland hospital. We were extremely impressed with the standards of the surgeon and after care. We booked a BnB in Lusaka as our family live out on farms. It was lovely, safe, quiet, clean, wel staffed. I would recommend it to any traveller. On the whole, having travelled to Zambia to see our family in the past ten years we were impressed with how much improved the city is. The roads are so much better and easier to cope with traffic volumes. EXCEPT for roads leading out of Lusaka ie the Great North Road is dreadful once you get past the double lanes. Delighted to see hardly any litter. Well done Lusaka. You are looking fabulous.

It's an interesting city with some old and new neighborhoods, good night life, an overcrowded market and bus station and a few historic buildings. A bit dirty in some streets and the market. A few beautiful churches and tall buildings. The cultural village and the museum are ok. Never walked outside in the evenings. I was advised to take a taxi, but daytime I felt zero danger. Public transport in the city is not clear for travelers, so either walk or take a Yango. You can take buses to go to other destinations like Livingstone, Luangwa or Mfuwe from the main bus station and fly into other regional and international cities from the airport.
Not a major tourist destination, but good for a few days as a central city in Zambia.

Lusaka is an interesting city.
Lusaka is an interesting city. It has most of the basic stuff that anyone would desire. It's a slow city though. Albeit literally speaking (Lusaka traffic will humble you😅) and economically.
Most establishments close by 8 pm. Except bars and liquor stores. Lusaka's night life is only dependent on alcohol and club life. If you are looking for a romantic night out, Lusaka is not for you. At least for now.😂
The city is generally safe. However, it's good to be on the look out as petty thefts just like anywhere else are common.
It's averagely clean with more dirt-roads. The road network has lots of room for improvement. The people are generally kind but language challenges will be your first hit. Even though English is prevalently spoken, people will first address you in Nyanja or Bemba.
The days here are usually super slow too. Banks open at 9 am and most close by 3 pm. If you are looking for food in Lusaka in the early mornings, you may not be very lucky as most places only open at 10 am.
If you are looking for Zambian cuisines, always ask to be taken to a "Matebeto". You will never be disappointed.
It's generally easy to get around Lusaka. However, the mini-buses(public transport buses) are not well labelled. If you don't know exactly where you are going, it's better to use Yango(a taxi-hailing app). There's no Uber here. But if you already have Bolt app, you should be fine.
Great activities you can do is hiking on the outskirts of Lusaka, game rides, museum visits, and especially a visit to the Village in the middle of the city if you like shopping for African memorabilia. Most people here however, prefer hanging out in malls. The most diverse malls are East Park mall, and Manda Hill Mall.

I liked the continental break fast , other food stuffs are too expensive.
I never hard dinner or lunch only breakfast and a beer though the bar is not properly set up. The bar should be separated from the Bar music is the ingredient of the bar and the bar should close a bit later than the restaurant.
this is my observation of the centre lodge that must be improved.

Wild Dog's Lodge was a brilliant place to stay in Lusaka. We had a day between our safari ending and our flight out of Zambia. We wanted to continue the safari lodge vibe rather than stay in a standard hotel and this was perfect. The rooms and communal areas were really comfortable and I enjoyed a swim in the pool. Lovely grounds and the staff were all really friendly and helpful.
The hotel is downtown and I like the location since we used a bus to get to Lusaka from Livingstone. The hotel staff is very professional. The rooms were very comfortable. The breakfast was a fully stocked buffet, we enjoyed it. They even had a pancake machine!
Location was good, good area and close to town. Good size of room, on the whole the cleaners did a good job. Excellent breakfast, wide choice. The chef also prepares good lunches and dinners. The menu included zambian dishes. Access to swimming pool.
Breakfast has good variety and we love sitting in the area next to the pond
Hotel was in very convenient location for our meetings and staff at reception and restaurant were very friendly.
Will certainly return the next time we are in Lusaka.
