The breakfast was delicious. I was able to pre-order the night before so they could ensure the had what I wanted and it was freshly prepared. I also ate dinner at the property which was equally delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and the owner came to check on things daily.

Nice room with two balconies in white colors, maybe in colonial style. Good bed, linen, towel. Good pressure of hot water. Delicious breakfasts in the picturesque garden with coconut palms, a fruit plate - the largest we have seen in Sri Lanka. Two minutes to a large empty beach. The place is quiet, the railway did not bother us. Actually it was a fun to watch trains passing by. The hotel did not offer lunch or dinner, but there were several restaurants nearby. My wife had a massage and she liked it. The owners suggested visiting a turtle farm. 10 minutes by tuk-tuk. We liked it very much. You can look at newborn turtles and even hold them in your arms.

The friendly and ever smiling staff everywhere make you happy. The room is very comfortable. Good sleep. Hoped if the sunrise was delayed !!!. The food was excellent. Obviously with a Cinnamon Brand hotel there is very little or nothing to complain. You can relax the way to wish. Although you pay a premium price it is fully worth as you return back happy.

I was disappointed that no real bacon (pork) was served for breakfast. Disgusting bacon made from chicken was available which was hard as ever and awful taste.
Other than this the breakfast was ok.
The beach was below average due to river water. The hotel is right in front of the river mouth meeting the sea and debris and pollution (plastic bottles and cans) were washed on to the beach area.
The beach away 1 to 2 km's either side was much better and enjoyed the beach and sea swim.

Was thoroughly disappointed with the service. There was one person taking care of everything there so maintenance was bad. Though rooms were spacious felt that it was not maintained well. The rain water entered the rooms and everytime we had to go search for the person in charge to come n clean. Door knobs were not working curtains were dirty. We paid too much for this place with no facilities.

The location is perfect, just few meters to the beach and very close to many restaurants. The room was very nice, very clean and with AC and hot water, which was perfect. The guy and the woman were very nice and friendly people, helping in everything we could need and more. And then the breakfast was very good, the best one we had in all the travel around Sri Lanka.

A special thank you to Mr Ashaan & Mr Lahiru for going the extra mile to accommodate us with our reservation & dinner requests as we were a family of 13 & occupied 5 rooms. This remains one of the most loveable hotels in Sri lanka. Bentota is not quite as trendy as it was because of the motoway south - but that means boutique hotels in south Bentota such as this one are often excellent value.
