De Haan is a quiet and very picturesque town on the coast.
De Haan is a quiet and very picturesque town on the coast. The beach area is vast and deep; there is space for everyone and every activity. There are many offerings for every kind of tourist; sitting on the beach, walking, cycling, reading, etc….. Brugge is not far away for a day trip. The coastal tram is a convenient and hassle-free way to visit other resorts along the coast. Afterwards, it’s nice to return to the quiet of De Haan.

Lovely sandy beachside town, friendly locals, great public...
Lovely sandy beachside town, friendly locals, great public transport especially the tram so easy to get to Ostend & Knokke-Heist.
Fabulous bakeries !!
We've been in the summer and winter as we have family living here. Beaches are fabulous in the summer & winter months, so much to do, always seems to be something going on somewhere along the coast, Christmas is fantastic, bike rentals are a must.

De Haan was lovely. It seems to be an upmarket seaside town.
De Haan was lovely. It seems to be an upmarket seaside town. I imagine it would look amazing in the summer, although with the Christmas lights it was magical at this time of year. Not many options for restaurants and most were very expensive. There was a lovely pop-up bar (basically an alpine-style wooden hut) which was rammed full every night with affordable beers and great atmosphere.

Lovely beach, really wide and long.
Lovely beach, really wide and long. Great supermarket (Delhaize) for self catering. Easy transport along the coast using the tram. Nice little town and the only one with low rise buildings behind the beach unlike the rest of the Belgian coast which has high rise apartments.

Most recommended "Sea Bath" at the Belgian Channel Coast!
Most recommended "Sea Bath" at the Belgian Channel Coast! No High-Rising, Ugly Hotel Castles. The City of De Haan has - mostly - maintained a wonderful "historic look" of the Beach Front and the whole town, in contrast to the other villages, North and South! :-)

We like our stay it was really nice ,located in a cul de sac and very close to everything you need.
The family run business is very welcoming with a lovely smile.
Our room was clean thank you to the nice guy who does the cleaning he was also very friendly and polite.
We love this place full of period characters.
We highly recommend this place.
It is a short walk to the tram station where we took the tram and train to Bruges,I it was the perfect beach and city combine trips.
De Haan is so beautiful, clean and quiet.
Breakfast is awesome - both food and the terrace. Parking great but paid (15EUR) - somehow I didn't spot that. Still, for prime location 5 min from the beach that is acceptable price. The pool is great and all that for a very good price taking into account that it is full summer on the seaside. Check-out at 12.00 is very convenient too. So, I discovered this hotel some time ago and keep coming back because it is worth it - very good value for money. Of course, it is still Ibis so rooms are basic but comfortable.
The apartment is spacious and quiet, with a very good arrangement of rooms, two bathrooms, two toilets, two terraces. Very nice garden with a little pond and a pretty field on the other side. The beach is in walking distance and is beautiful (for sunbeds and umbrellas you have to go a bit further to De Haan). A fritteur on the corner turned out to be one of the first pensions in the neighbourhood with an interesting, large photo about the premise in the thirties. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
In the heart of De Haan, with very clean and practical, spatious rooms, interesting interior and superb bar, this hotel is a safe bet for a troublefree stay. The staff is very nice, breakfast very good. Try the home-made gin in Coq'eau Bar... A lot of bars (we liked to sit in Roger!) and restaurants around, and you can ask for reservation at the reception. A tram stop is nearby, and the sea just a short walk away.
Accomodation is located in the so-called “concessie”, one of the most beautiful spots at the Belgium coast in the town of De Haan. What makes makes De Haan beautiful is that it does not have any high-rise buildings. The tallest building is no more than four stories. Surroundings are like a beautiful park. Restaurants are nearby and the sea is in walking distance.
