A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernizing at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and has fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.
This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.
With a choice of shopping centers and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.
Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle, head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.
Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.
Cosmopolitan city. Very clean and safe. You go everywhere on the subway which is very cheap, especially if you buy the 1 or the 3 day ticket.
The only problem, and you should prepare for that, is that most places do not have english menus or signs for example and almost everyone does not speak English.
If you are planning to go it is useful to have Alipay installed before you go. You can use it to pay everything from taxis to coffe on the street or bikes you can use across the city.

Shanghai is one of the most beautiful city in the world. it is rich in history, culture, finance, food, arts and education. its spectacular water front along the famous Bund is historical with many well preserved architectural wonders.
Shanghai is the central hub to other tourist attractions as the famous Huangshan Mountains. it is only 2.5 hours by its express train.
The Moonlo Hotel is located less than 15 minutes from the Pudong International airport. it provides free pre arranged airport shuttle. its staff is english speaking and professional. within 3 minutes walk, there are many well appointed restaurants. the local residents are keeping this town vibrant with its community evening dances at the town square. we experienced its unique sense of close knitted community.
the Moonlo staff assisted us in securing a tab for local sightseeing. provided free luggage storage for our trip to Huangshan Mountain. we returned to the same Hotel after this excursion and received a warm welcome and free upgrade to its premium room with full garden. we will return to this hotel and Shanghai to discover more of its beauty. highly recommend.

When we think of China, we usually think of very crowded streets, subway stations and avenues, but Shanghai was the exact opposite. I can say that it is a very calm and quiet city as possible.
The vast majority of vehicles in the city were either fully electric or hybrid; This is a factor that seriously reduces the pollution rate of the city. I was especially impressed by the landscaping, the density of green areas and parks, and even the presence of large trees on almost every street!
A big and modern city should definitely be like this! Shanghai is definitely at the top of my favorite list...

Beautiful, clean city.
Beautiful, clean city. Very easy to get around on the metro system. Tons of shopping, coffee and greenery! You can pay for everything with Alipay and figure out the Metro on Metroman - download both of these apps before you go.
Located in an area with lots of food and other stores within very short walk. Found Starbucks 3 doors away from the hotel entrance. Also a nice little bar with a narrow outside terrace on floor 3.
Rooftop terrace is very good. Can see Shanghai Tower and other big financial district buildings from it. 10 minute walk to The Bund and waterfront and a further 1.2 kilometers along The Bund to the tourist tunnel under the river to the Pudong side. Walk back with the beautifully lit Bund was well worth doing.
Location was perfect, beyond any doubts.. You get out to Nanjing Road and you feel what Shnaghai means. Staff was extremely friendly. Janet, Manager on duty was extremely friendly and helpful and I would like to thank you for all ger efforts to mak eour stay even better. Breakfast was great, best coffee, much better than in any of the other 5* hotels I stayed in China. Last time in Shanghai I stayed at Hyatt at the Bund and at Le Meridien, but this choise was BETTER!
One of the biggest and cleanest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed!!! So comfortable!! Didn’t even feel like leaving the room!!!
Don’t know why it’s stated as a 4 stars hotel. It’s definitely a 5 stars.
Staff speaks very good English and they are so helpful and friendly.
A strongly recommended place to stay if you want a genuine Shanghai French Concession experience! Nice rooms, lots of atmosphere, and very friendly staff. The hotel is in a side street, so a bit more difficult to find, but it also means no traffic noise.
Very friendly staff at reception and also repair man for small thing in the room. The man was available immediately. Hotel is close to the Shanghai Pudong Airport. Hotel provides bus shuttle to the airport and back for free.
