I'd asked for a quiet room. The first one they gave had a big hum from the neighbouring ventilator shaft, so they quickly and politely changed me. I had a fantastic night's sleep, so quiet! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent, with lots of options. The location is perfect for touring the old centre, and not too far from the train station.

Very nice and elegant hotel. Our room the first night was quite small (cruise ship cabin-like). We upgraded to a larger room which was quite spacious. So I recommend booking a larger room. Both rooms were nicely decorated and furnished. BTW, Booking.com does not accurately show different room sizes so you may want to consult the hotel before committing.

Featuring northern Germany’s best-preserved medieval center, Lübeck justifies its UNESCO World Heritage listing. The river surrounding the old town connects it to the historically important trade route of the Baltic Sea, which is why it was the capital of the Hanseatic League of merchant guilds for over 500 years.
Warehouses from that time still line the waterfront and are now shops, restaurants and bars. Their step gables, and the Gothic spires that dominate them, are best viewed from boat trips around the island. The tallest spires belong to 14th-century St. Mary’s Church, similar in style to the cathedral of the same era.
However, Lübeck’s icon is the Holstentor, the most impressive remaining city gate which sits on a separate island by a park. This is the first thing most visitors see after arriving at the train station from Lübeck Airport.
The road through the gate leads to a cobbled square housing the porticoed town hall and part of the annual Christmas markets. Other stalls are in Koberg square, overlooked by Saint Jakobi Church and the medieval Holy Spirit Hospital. Nearby are shops selling the famous Niederegger marzipan founded here, and the former houses of Willy Brandt, Günter Grass and Thomas Mann.
The Lübeck accommodations on Booking.com include hotels, apartments and guesthouses, most with parking.

The historic centre is very compact and can be easily traversed on foot and yet there is so much to see whether it be row after row of beautifully restored and maintained buildings or the immense and imposing churches charting the centuries of history of this important and fascinating town. I should say that the old town provides wonderful eateries and bars that cater for all tastes and budgets.

I lived in Lübeck for five years.
I lived in Lübeck for five years. It's the most beautiful city I've ever been to, with lots of cute hidden alleyways scattered across the old city. The ancient history is palpable. Its proximity to Hamburg and the Baltic Sea are very attractive. The city boasts great restaurants and cozy cafes with friendly staff, and public transportation is reliable, with cycling as a good option.

A lovely small town, great for a brief stopover.
A lovely small town, great for a brief stopover. The area around the town hall has spectacular architecture and good shopping. A walk along the canal is nice especially in early morning or evening. There are lots of eateries along the canal. If you go I recommend staying at The Fishers Loft - spectacular rooms and service and great location.

A beautiful city that earns its UNESCO rating.
A beautiful city that earns its UNESCO rating. I especially enjoyed the European Hansemuseum, which offers interactive exhibits and recreated scenes from history. It was truly informative and fun. The Churches are also worth a visit since many contain art exhibits. And don't miss a meal at Fangfrisch, a terrific restaurant with excellent service.

A beautiful apart-hotel with stylish, modern facilities and a short walk from the historical centre of Lubeck. Hosts were happy to accommodate us a little earlier than expected and even allowed us to park in their car port. We will definitely be back should we come to the region again in the near future. Value for money is unrivalled considering stays we've had in the city previously.
Eminent hotel. Situated in the very oldest åarts of Lübeck, nelow the St. Marie-church. Lovely house, lovingly furnished rooms with great beds and comfy chairs. But the most importanc factor is the staff. The first time we visited I became ill and had to spend a full day recovering in bed. Everything was done to help me.
Lubeck is a very nice city. We were lucky, being in Lubeck and enjoying the city festival. We like the old houses. Our hotel with walls more than 900 year old and very nice old buildings in the city. The Festival, with music, food en a lot of happy people. Lubeck is very good place for a short stay
Historic hotel , beautifully renovated. Nice large room. Perfect location to visit Lubeck. Friendly staff. Amazing breakfast with a lot of choice : eggs your style , pancakes , fresh fruit and juice ...
