nice room, nice location, the complementary breakfast at the restaurant next door was excellent with fast service so we could get going quickly, the front desk staff all spoke excellent engllish and were always present. the grounds were nice, and it was right near restaurants and a decent grocery market. I felt safe the whole time. We also liked using the room safe for our money and passports while out during the day.

I love this place. I stayed here in 2022 and again in December 2024. The staff is friendly, the bed is comfortable and the room had everything I needed. Including a fridge to store food that can be prepared in the common kitchen. I also appreciated the drying rack and the spacious table in the room, which helped to keep my things organized. It's central. On a quiet street, but walking distance to the lively malecón. I'll stay here again on my next visit to La Paz.

I liked the restaurant's the small town feel when you get away from the beach strip the only incident was the sticker which indicates you have a rental vesical and the police which held me up for 150 my dollars saying the police station was closed and we had to settle now that put a downer on my stay as well as customs separating me from my friend and charging me a 1000 dollars duty on a carton of cigarettes which he claimed on his declaration and the he was removed from the inspection area if i dont get justice that will be my last trip to mexico

I have been to Los Cabos since 1991.
I have been to Los Cabos since 1991. Stayed in La Paz but only a couple times spent time sightseeing. This time I brought my wife and teenage daughter. One thing not related to Lori Mar. the boardwalk. Foolish roller bladders. Skating wreck less and those idiotic peddle cars. And the dog owners. Their dogs poop and never clean up. Typical MX dog owners. I been all over MX. I see this everywhere. La Paz overall is beautiful. Weather is good Summer evenings Man! Winter Man! Driving the whole of The Baja is beautiful. Just need to know the rules of the road. Understand MX drivers. And never underestimate the road conditions. Between Guerrero Negro and Santa Rosalia. A stretch so bad I never experienced such a wretched road before in 34 years. I love The whole of The Baja!!

We ended up spending 4 days in La Paz and enjoyed our stay.
We ended up spending 4 days in La Paz and enjoyed our stay. We moved to Hotel Baja Club near the beach and it was a great decision. The staff at Hotel Baja Club arranged a boat tour which included snorkeling, lunch on a small nearby island and the option to swim alongside a group of sea lions. Local businesses, restaurants and shops make us feel welcome. It was a great place to get away for a few days and learn at the same time.

I didn't have much time, just two days.
I didn't have much time, just two days. Would say that that's not enough to experience all the great things it has to offer. On my final night in the Sunset Hostel I met Samuel, host and nature guide. Apart from being a great and fun guy with tons of energy, he gave me all the tips I needed for my stay on the peninsula. And for eating out in town. Made my stay! Would have loved to go on a tour with him, from the stories he told. Also had a great experience swimming with whale sharks through Hamza of Baja Wild Adventures..Highly recommended too! Love La Paz and will return for sure

I live here part time so ... a little different angle than a visitor. This spot is actually right in front of my house (which I had rented out thinking we would be out of town) I love it, it's down a ways and quieter , closer to the nice beaches. However, you will want a car or ride share to get around and get stuff. There is an Oxxo and abbarotes store up the hill for basics. But those who want to get out and walk to restaurants and the malecon might want to stay elsewhere. It's an awesome walk to the malecon but not for everyone, a mile down (and back up) a steep hill. Lots of decent restaurants around, the one closest to here would be El Molinito and a great place for breakfast would be Vrentino in the Hotel El Moro. Many love the drinks and you can even pick up fruit at Cocos y Pinas Locas .

La Pazis a low-rise city with the cathedral and a few hotels poking their heads up.
It is definitely not Cabo, and that’s the way the locals like it and why we liked it. Mexico in general isn’t the bargain it used to be—where is?—but as Canadians it compared with prices at home.
We visited El Coromuel beach twice. Balandra post Covid has rules governing the number of people and Tecolote is a challenge to get to if like us you don’t have a car. But Ubers are real cheap.
A shout out to Allende Books, an English language bookstore where the attentive Sylvie is happy to chat. We even played and sang with a group of geezer guitarists who meet every Saturday at 1pm. Very welcoming group 😄
The fact that it’s difficult to get to with no Canadian airlines flying in meant we had to absorb the extra expense of hiring a car and driver from Day Trip. But it was worth it to have met Jose who could not have been more courteous and informative. Through him we were so fortunate to attend an amazing choir concert in the cathedral. Never to be forgotten.
Despite the challenge of getting there, we loved the place and the people. We are already planning to return, this time for a bit longer.

The location was decent but not beachfront as described in the ad. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom fixtures worked but were all loose and/or falling off the wall. Everything looked pretty but not everything worked well.
We did enjoy the view of La Paz and La Paz Bay from the unit - the balcony especially was nice to sit and watch the sunsets although there was much music noise on the weekend from below us and lots of dogs barking at night in the area.
