The hotel was central to a lot of amenities like shopping, railway station, etc. The room was super nice, room service excellent. After a crazy sailing on the Cook Strait ferry from the South Island, to stay at the hotel was wonderful. Was only there one night, but would definitely stay at the hotel longer next time I am in Wellington.

Weather is ever changing but I really enjoyed my trip. It’s a hidden gem which is often skipped by travellers.
What I liked
- very walkable city
- lots of nature in the CBD. Botanical garden and walks along the pier were lovely
- good food and wine on harbour
- te papa museum was excellent. Highly recommend it. Ticket allows you to enter two days if you don’t see everything on first visit. Go early in holiday period

We liked that the first hotel we chose (Ramada Wellington) was close to Courtenay Place bus station (St James Theatre). This bus hub can take you to all the must see attractions in Wellington such as the Weta workshop, Wellington Zoo, Cable Cars and further down on Wakefield Street, the free shuttle to Zealandia.
Te Papa and Wellington Museum was a short walk from Courtenay Place too.
My young son didn't like the homeless and sometimes intimidating people around the city area.

The beaches. We were lucky , the was weather was perfect.
The beaches. We were lucky , the was weather was perfect. The water was crystal clear and the scenic route along the coast was absolutely stunning.
I also enjoyed visiting the Mansfield Museum. ( Lots of museums and galleries in Wellington). Lots to see and do. Adults and children will not be bored. The Aquatic Swimming Centre was great fun. Last time we also visited the zoo. I sm looking forward to visit the Space Centre tomorrow with my family.
One thing I did not like was parking. To find parking can be a nightmare and prices are over the top.

On a nice weather day, Wellington is lovely. Luckily there are things to do on cold days too. We went to Kapiti Island, Te Papa Museum, Zealandia (a bird sanctuary), the Banksy exhibit and walked along the waterfront.

We visited the Wellington Museum which was a short walk from the hotel. A short walk along the waterfront takes you to the childrens playgound which filled our time before the museum opened. It opens at 10am and we enjoyed learning more about Wellington. The Wahine exibit was harrowing. Upstairs was a variety of things from UFO's to Steven Adams basketball shoes. The exhibit information is short and easy to read. Lunch was in Willis Lane which is a downstairs food court with a great range of options (and not the usual mall offerings). My child opted for the Crispy Chicken which was a bit spicy, my Macaroni Cheese bits loaded with pulled pork and sour cream was enjoyed by both of us. There was the lego shop, the bucket fountain and the The Fear Factory experience for my child. There were plenty of shopping options such as the T2 tea shop for myself. Having a day to explore just the shops was great. We have visited Te Papa, Mt Victoria and Zoo on previous visits and we recommend these places too. To end our day we rode the cable car up to see city view. It was a great way to spend the day.

A vibrant and inspiring city, it's know for being wet and windy, but don't let this put you off, it's a very special place. There is a lot of public art and trees (how do the manage to flourish there?) though much of the urban environment.

I chose it for easy access for Wellington station (it’s a few minutes round the corner) but it’s an easy walk into the CBD/quayside as well for sightseeing.
Apartment was sparkling clean, really well appointed and staff very helpful. Bed was really comfortable too! Would definitely stay again and will look at other Quest hotels when travelling in future.
We had an amazing view over the Wellington Harbour, and the location of the hotel was fantastic for walking to the city centre, Te Papa, etc. The rooms were clean, and spacious. The children enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and the staff were friendly & helpful, but it would have been great if they had changed the rooms to accomodate our request.
Excellent hotel in prime location in the city, near public transport & the Cuba Street precinct. Frequent bus services to airport out the front, plenty of eateries nearby, and cinema across the road. Excellent size room with comfortable bed, and excellent quiet air conditioning. Fanastic buffet breakfast.
Well-equipped. Located near the harbourfront, in the citycenter, next to the Willis Street, it was a great location. Elevator available via the garage to access the street or hotel to avoid the stairs. With the Airport Express Bus, you are from/to the Wellington Airport within 20 to 30 minutes.
The location of the hotel was so handy and was in walking distance of many of Wellington's main attractions and city centre. Check in/out was a breeze and the staff were lovely and made this process very easy. The room was clean and tidy and had a fresh feel about it.
