Whanganui Seaside Holiday Park, hotel in Whanganui

Set on 3 acres of park-like grounds, Whanganui Seaside Holiday Park is located alongside Castlecliff Beach. It offers a swimming pool, BBQ area and a sauna.

The location of the holiday park, good area with the playground & beach a walk away. The cabin we booked was close to the bathroom, kitchen & saltwater pool 🩵 (a favorite of ours) easy for supervision when you have little ones. The atmosphere was welcoming & friendly. Very clean & well run you can tell they take very good care of the place. The hospitality was fabulous 10/10.

Such a friendly place with a very chilled vibe with lots of lovely cycleways and trails to easily get along the riverside into town and out towards the beach - nice simple straight roads again with awesome lanes for cyclists - vehicle drivers seemed relaxed and not in a hurry and courteous to cyclists and walkers. Glad I checked out the Durie Hill pedestrian elevator [opened in 1919 & is 1 of only 2 in the World - other is in Portugal] when you get out also climb up on top for an amazing view of the Awa[river] and city - while you're there you should also climb the 176 steps up the nearby Memorial Tower [honours 500+ WW1 soldiers who sadly didn't come home] - I enjoyed 8 days straight of beautiful sunny but not too hot weather with very little wind - will definitely go back and even tempted to maybe move there one day [houses are a lot more "affordable"] :) Wayne - Snells Beach Warkworth

Very pretty and tidy. Lots of tree lined streets. Everything you need is available We were there for the nz masters games so a lot of our time was occupied competing We dined at the St Johns club 2 nights and food was plentiful and everyone enjoyed their meal. A goup of 17 over 60s.

Whanganui is the perfect getaway for a long weekend.

Whanganui is the perfect getaway for a long weekend. Terrific galleries including the newly upgraded Sarjeant gallery. Quartz, Rick Rudd's amazing ceramics museum and gallery. This has to be one of the best ceramics collections in NZ. Then there is the Glass gallery at the NZ Glass works. You can watch artists work in the hot shop. Visit the Bason botanical gardens, a surf beach, the historic Whanganui river and great food. Whats not to love.

    Whanganui is a great city..

Whanganui is a great city.. I love the walk ability of the town, the tracks around the river, the funky look of the main street and the old buildings and homes. I think it's a really underrated town. We stayed over vintage weekend which was fabulous.

Whanganui has a delightful mix of art and activities in lovely architecture. The newly renovated Sargeant Gallery is wonderful. The Glassworks and Brown & Co offer exceptional art glass of international level. The ceramic museum - Quartz - run by iconic ceramicist Rick Rudd is a national treasure. And that is mirrored by local artists such as Angela Tier and Frances Stachl offering stunning ceramics and jewellery. The Saturday riverside markets are superb. The Opera House offers wonderful opera (we saw the Opera School's inspirational gala performance). The river cruises are essential to enjoying your stay. The Paloma gardens just 20 minutes drive away in Fordell are of national significance and well worth the visit. It just gets better all the time.

The town and CBD have something for everyone. With a wide variety of coffee shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, there's always something happening in and around the area. From theaters and cinemas to scenic walkways and river cruises, you'll find plenty to explore. Don't miss the art museum, glassblowing studios, gin distillery, and much more to enjoy.

I loved this charming home in Whanganui. The owners couldn't have been more inviting and helpful. The accommodation provided was very roomy and comfortable. There was great attention to detail and little extras available were really appreciated. Bath bombs, plenty of large towels. Tonnes of cutlery and crockery. Yummy bickies. Fresh flowers. Plus a wonderful breakfast provided in the morning. I left feeling well rested. Thank you for sharing your home!

What a bedutiful and cozy little house that is actually bigger than all accommodations we've had in this price range thus far. The hosts are super nice and attentive. We would have liked to stay longer. Whanganui is also a cool city.

The receptionist and service staff were great, and the facilities were good too. The daily service was much appreciated. I appreciate the heating as well as the temperature dropped quite a bit when we were in Whanganui.
