Friendly, welcoming and caring. I had the misfortune of being ill, and the attention of the staff to make it easy, can only be described as unbelievably solicitous. Indoor parking which was so important that day.

Le style architectural
L emplacement cœur de ville
Easygoing and green, Nantes is the gateway to the Loire Valley. On a delta between the Loire, Erdre and Sèvre rivers, this once important port is now an innovation pioneer.
A former shipyard, the Île de Nantes in the Loire now has bars, clubs and restaurants. However, its most intriguing feature is the Machines of the Isle of Nantes, a collection of weird and wonderful mechanical sculptures – you can even take a ride on the elephant.
Across the river is the moat-surrounded Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, a fortified castle and former home of Breton Dukes. A few streets away is Nantes Cathedral, whose façade is reminiscent of the one in Reims. Place du Bouffay in the historic city center is home to many restaurants and bars, while the 19th-century shopping center Passage Pommeraye has a range of stores over 3 levels. For a taste of daily life head to Talensac market.
Other Nantes attractions are the Japanese Garden at Île de Versailles in the Erdre, the former shipowners’ houses at Île Feydeau, and the Jules Verne Museum, celebrating the city’s most famous son.
Don’t head to Nantes Airport from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or B&B without having tried the local speciality – crêpes. Delicieux!

Nantes is a really attractive city, easy to get around and very friendly. There is a massive choice of nice restaurants and bars for every budget. There are interesting museums and galleries plus stunning architecture at every turn.
I will have to go back because I didn't see everything I planned to. Interesting diversions at every turn.
The Musee d'Art is a must-visit as is the memorial to the abolition of slavery.

Interesting, nice town.
Interesting, nice town. Not spectacular, but very enjoyable, with positive energy. Save at least 2 days for it, 3 or 4 would be even better.
Pick up tourist info booklet that will take you along green line throughout the town and enjoy it!

I knew very little about Nantes prior to going there but what a revelation. The architecture of the city is just beautiful with lots of squares and people milling around. If you like arts then Nantes is for you. I loved the random art installations you would come upon as you wandered through the city. It's also great for museums. I visited the natural history museum and Musee Dobree and would have done more but my time ran out. I used the Nantes card which included entry to these sights and all public transport. I was there for three days but could have stayed longer.

The botanic gardens, Chateau and bascillica are worth visiting. The short flight from the UK is great. There are nice places to visit such as La Rochelle and Batz Sur Mer and it is likely nicer to stay there for longer periods. I have also read that there is a high crime rate in Nantes and there are also quite alot of homeless people. Hiring a car sounds like a good idea for a road trip.

Breakfast not included (was a coffee machine but no milk). great location a short distance off a main road, in a small square next to St Nicolas Basilica. I had an unexpected treat from a long and harmonious peal of church bells. About 20 minutes walk from Nantes SNCF station, I easily caught a bus there at 07.00 for E1.80 and a shuttle E10 from there to the airport. Many bars and cafes nearby, would be a good centre to see the city if you can't afford anything more comfortable than this cramped little flat.
Really quiet stay though the hotel was full of Hellfest visitors. The breakfast was abundant. I returned after one night and stayed two more nights. Nantes has free public transportation on Saturday and Sunday. I made my GR3 etapes around Nantes using this hotel as base camp. I found an Italian pizzeria Grazziella in Nantes, no excess fromage on pizza like usually is in France
This is an ideal hotel for remote working. They have some lovely comfortable seating in reception and great wifi! A very short walk away from the town centre but with a variety of bar and restaurants on the doorstep.
Travelling with car, the hotel is well positioned - easy to find, good parking and only a few metres away from a metro bus stop for very, very simple, quick and easy access into the centre of Nantes.
